I can't really tell what the temp fix is. Using info from the other thread on this recall. I believe the issue was in the area in my photo. The white clip looks new relative to the dirt on all the other parts. I used an endoscope to take the pictures as its impossible to directly see. I didn't see any pipes touching in this area.

Looks like maybe you got the permanent fix instead of the temporary fix?

The wording of the original recall message changed on the app. The new wording was a bit ambiguous So I called the dealer and asked if they had the temp fix parts. The service person put me on hold then came back and said they had them. So I made an appointment.

The latest lie is that the temporary fix will be available this month. November 2023.

Got the below email from a dealer after inquiring about a used 2022 tundra. From what I’ve read in other posts, aren’t most 3rd gen tundras affected and wouldn’t that make all of them ‘unsellable’?

Also weird that this isn’t something a dealer would check ahead of time.

“I just tried contacting the local Toyota Dealer to get the options and packages for the truck but was informed that this truck has a safety recall with no remedy. After speaking with my manager this is something we can't sell unfortunately. I apologize for the inconvenience.”

Was informed by the Dealership that the temporary fix would be available sometime in the first part of December.

I don’t know if they dropped the tank. The shop wasn’t very busy and I waited a little over two hours. The only issue I was there for was the fuel line recall. Invoice says they temp fixed 23TA29 recall. And that they inspected tonneau cover which is not a Toyota cover. So they wrote no cover installed.

My June '23 build (not included in this recall) has those white clips, but it also has a protective sleeve over one of the hoses that isn't on trucks that are included in the recall.

At Dealership for 23 Tundra 1794 in St Augustine today for oil change, Brake ECU recall and Fuel Line Recall. Checking out, I examined what had been done on the paperwork. All good, except Fuel Line Recall not mentioned, I queried the service dept, and their response was they didn’t even have the temp remedy so it was done, but no notes of it. Looks like dealers don’t want to do the temp remedy (time consuming) and just want to wait for a permanent fix, timeline unknown. They were pretty rude about and didn’t seem to want to address.

Was offered a long term rental and to leave my truck on the lot.

I opted to bring truck home, have a second vehicle, didn’t want to truck on lot with a bunch of looky-Loos.

I am really thinking about parking mine to and getting their rental. The more money it starts to cost them maybe the sooner they will have a fix?

I still have not gotten a recall for my 23' tundra built last spring. At what date did they have a fix for it in the build process?
    Please and thank you

Do they have to drop the tank to put the plastic sheath on?

thanks for sharing the diagram. Presume this is the Temp fix. Wonder how much different the permanent fix will be. Time wil tell.

Got to wonder how many dealer techs are going to not shove that big template in there, and rather just eyeball it.

My build was 4/2023 according to the app, and I have no recall listed. I guess I may be one of the lucky ones. It was built in Texas, are there any other build locations?

I bought my 2023 Tundra 1794 edition november 8th. The truck is in their lot, but the dealer can't give it to me because of the fuel line recall.
It does not look like I'm going to have the truck soon.
The dealers are also stuck with inventory they can't deliver.
Does someone know if dealers will have a compensation for this problem, and if so, are they gonna pass that to the buyers.
If I receive my truck in March 2024, I should probably buy a 2024, or fight for a new price for my 2023.

Thanks to all of you who keep this thread always updated.

What was the build date? Was it sitting on a lot for a long time? Mine was built in April 23 and no recall. Not complaining but.....
I don't understand how some "recent" builds have the recall and others do not if they are all built in Texas.

I know this is a long shot but if you have the VIN for your truck, go to the link below and see if it is indeed in the recall. Possible the dealer is too lazy to check? Mine is a 6/23 build and all that shows up for my truck is the parking brake ECU thing.

I know it was sitting in the lot for aproximately 2 months.
The built date, I don't know where can I see that on the limited information I have on the truck.

Yes, being in Canada, I also checked the Toyota Canada Site, and it is on the list for the recall

The build date should be on the driver's door sticker. My 6/23 build is not included in the fuel leak recall.

Bull on that. Go in and tell them they can give you a ‘24 for the same price or they can have their ‘23 truck back. If not, Corporate will be hearing from your lawyer.
