So after installing the new coilovers I have a new noise. From zero to about 25 MPH I hear a clicking. I’ve checked everything and it’s all tight. Could this be an axel issue? There is some side to side movement as I would expect but no u-joint wiggle at all. What am I missing here? The reason I’m questioning the front axles is it does seem worse when turning from a stop. This was not there prior to removing the old suspension.

Please, tell us more. Repetitive clicking, that increases and decreases in frequency with speed? Or just random clicks?

And remind us how tall you went, what was the difference in center-axle-to-fender measures before/after?

Does the sound go away if you're turning left, turning right, or does it get louder?

Did you take the basic step of jacking up each wheel independently, ideally under the lower control arm, and spinning to see if you hear the sound?

I see two likely possibles here: 1) Maybe you accidentally bent a dust shield, like I did, and it's tapping something? Mine squealed, but I spun the wheel before dropping the truck from that work, as everyone should do, and heard it. 2) Your CV axles are tired, or can't handle the amount of lift, but it's weird to me it stops after 25mph.

I didn’t lift just new suspension. At least that’s how I ordered lol. Good suggestions with the jacking each tire and spinning. I thought about the dust shield as well as I did the same when I did the LBJ. same side as well. When I get home I’ll lift and spin as I can’t hear it when outside the truck. It does seek to get worse when turning that’s why I went directly to the CVs. Worst case lol. I now get to do the valve cover gaskets as they have started leaking since our last cold snap. Two steps forward and one back.

I get it. When initiating a turn triggers the CV, yeah, CV is bad. But the weird part is how it's clicking even without. And if there was no lift ...

What all did you do suspension-wise?

I did 6112/5160 Bilsteins. Ordered no lift option from 1st gen Off Road. The ride quality is really good and am completely happy with them. The old suspension was some off name coilovers up front and the rear bilsteins were really shot. Lots of body roll everywhere. I also installed the Timbrens in the rear. Once I get a few more things ironed out I’ll be doing the leafs out back at which point I’ll raise the front a clip or two. With winter here now I’m almost at a standstill since I do 95% in my driveway. Too many toys in the garage.
