I want to get a set of Go Rhino RB 20s or RB 30s. The problem is I can not decide which one's will work and look the best. Do the slim lines have enough tread to actually use as a step without kicking the side of the truck? I need them to be good steps but I do not want them sticking out to far.

Photos and experience with these would help.

I have the RB30s and am very happy with them. While I think the slims look a bit better, there is no way they are a good step. The standard width are hardly big enough for a good step. They have less stepping area than a stock board on a raptor, if you know what those are like.

Here's my post about the Go Rhino RB20 that I have on my truck. There's a bit of discussion about the mounting of them as you read the next few posts as well.

I read the thread on the running boards. I was looking for more specific info. There is not enough info about the Go Rhinos in particular. I really want to figure out if the slims actually function as steps or are just show. There is nothing that shows if the standards RB20S & 30S are overkill and stick out to far.

RB20's provide quite an adequate step. Liked them enough to put them on our TRD Pro 4R as well. [IMG]

The slims are very slim.. Read the other thread. There’s photos of both I’ve posted there

This image helped me make my decision while using the photos in the other thread for reference. Losing 2" from what I have would not work as a good step for my big ole feet at least.

I got the 30's, can't imagine the 20's being wide enough for my taste.

Those look like the Dominator Extreme D1's, not the RB30's?

IMG_5218.jpg I’ve got the rb20 version and feel they do the job. My size 13 feet use them daily just fine. I personally wouldn’t want anything wider. Note that when mounting you can adjust them in/out a bit.

I noticed those get narrow as they go back. Is there enough step for the rear passengers?

I have the RB20 slims. No issues with them not being wide enough. I wouldn't want them sticking out any further. I would line-x the mounting brackets before install... Mine rusted the first winter when the poor factory paint job came off. The running boards themselves have held up just fine, just the mounting hardware had bad paint.

I have size 12 feet and went with R20 slims as well. They really look good on this truck.

I just spaced them out a bit more from the rockers to allow any ice build up in winter to be cleared out when I go to wash the truck. They are wide enough in the front for my big feet. I don't have many people riding in the back, so that is less of a concern for me.

I had them completely Line- X'd, brackets and all. Very happy with them so far.

I have the RB20 Slim. Had I known they were tapered at the time or ordering, I would not have bought them, and would have chosen a different model. I mounted mine backwards (opposite sides) for my kids to have more contact with the step. Being mounted this way, I still have plenty of room to use them, though at 6'1" I don't truly need to use them. Overall, I'm happy with them; they look nice and are super easy to install.

I have the rb 20s bought them so my little girl and my mom can get in. I hear a lot of road noise of things bouncing off of them.
Don't know if that is good or bad.

@digitalwiz those are the RB20 slims, right? Based on the number of punch-outs on the platform?

I have the RB20 slims and have no complaints. I have the wider part towards the front, but I honestly wouldn't mind if it was the same width as the narrowest part of the boards, as I find it plenty surface. I'm able to comfortably step perpendicularly as well as sideways. My fiancé also has no issues having both feet on the narrow part while she straps our daughter into her seat.

I got the textured black, so I just sprayed all the brackets and hardware with some Fluid Film for corrosion protection. I will see how they do this upcoming winter. As others have mentioned, I do hear more debris and water hitting sometimes, which I like, as it saves my doors and fenders a little.
