Window Tinting

No factory windows are really tinted , they are just colored darker , they don’t do the same thing as a ceramic tint blocking out all the uv , etc I guess is what I’m trying to say

 

Correct, does the rear bed window have any factory color or is it clear like the windshield?

 

Typically the rear glass would be the same as the rear doors regardless of cab configuration. It may seem lighter when looking at it from behind bc of the angle or lack of.

 

Can someone provide me with the window dimensions of a 22/23 Crewmax. Not sure if I need a 20" or 24" tint roll.

I'd do it myself but I'm picking my truck up next week. (23, Limited, TRD OR)

 

I just got mine done. 20% on the front 2 and match perfectly. Not sure really of the need of any darker. Clean and does the job.

 

Just had 35% carbon put on the front just for looks. I wish I had gone with the ceramic over the standard carbon. My dad has his entire truck (GMC) done in ceramic and it is definitely worth the extra money. Pics are before and after of my front tint. $95 same day service, local detail shop here in Pensacola. First time I’ve ever had tint done, so now I know to go with ceramic!

 

I’ve got 50% on the windshield and 15% on all of the others, including the rear 3. I didn’t do the moon roof.

 

This is the exact tint I got on mine. Great quality, no weird color shifting and it keeps the car relatively cooler.

 

Looking for suggestions. Would like my truck to look a bit better with tint, and not be so easy to see through. But that being said I live in northern Canada where I drive in the dark a lot, and don’t want to sacrifice safety.

what would y’all suggest. I was thinking 35 front, darken the rears a bit, 75 windshield and pano. All ceramic. The windshield and pano is mostly to help keep the heat out a bit.

I think 15% is the best to get all around - this is what I have on my rig as well! Btw the new TRD PRO color is amazing! Great choice!

 

I have no idea, nor do I want to know. There are SOOO many people out here with much darker tint.

 

There are vehicles in my town that are so blacked out you'd swear they spray painted them.
The Po po can't be bothered with dark windows here,they leave that to the Staties.

 

I'm sort of regretting not getting the giant skylight done. The fabric cover doesn't do shit to stop the heat transfer.

I followed South Carolina tint rules @ 27% for front and rear doors and back window and a tint strip across the top of the windshield. I went with Autobahn's i3 ceramic film which is supposed to be industry leading. This was the most expensive tint job I've ever gotten, but last time I got windows tinted, I don't think there were ceramic options.

 

Can you show me from the inside out what the 5% looks like?

 

I’ll throw in my tint project. I got 60% 3M crystalline on the windshield, and 3M Ceramic IR fronts (20%) Rear sides (50%) and Rear window (50%). Didn’t do the pano-roof. I asked that they match the factory stained glass which I feel the executed perfectly.

 

The shop that did my tint said they would not do the pano for the reason you stated.

 

I got llumar formula one pinnacle
15% on front windows
80% on rear windows
80% on sunroof

I was skeptical at first with the % but the brand and quality of film you go with makes a difference. Due to the large windshield, there is plenty of light in the cabin. Driving at night is not bad at all! It’s darker looking in but while inside looking out it feels more like a 70-80% film and has a ton of clarity. My wife has a 70% suntek nano film on her windshield and it looks greenish-blue. My 3M Crystalline has more of a light smoke/grayish look.

 

I have a 80 ceramic on my windshield and I think it’s perfect as well
