Fitting drain tubes with factory bed liner?

I purchased a Gator EFX Hard Fold cover & it has drain tubes. I purchased this same cover for a GMC Canyon in past & is pretty simple to install. I have the factory bed liner & it has no access ports, there are the bed drain holes which are smaller than drain tubes. Suggestions for drain tubes?

 

How much smaller?

Maybe you could find a piece of tubing to neck it down a step and fit through the drain holes?

 

Step drill bit to open to the necessary size?

 

Yep... make the hole bigger, make the tube smaller, pretty much sums uo the options

 

I wouldn't neck down the tube to a smaller one. It will likely clog up a lot sooner.
What's wrong with running them through the big plastic plugs?

 

Yeah, for places with actual rain I'd tend to agree with you. Sorta' depends how much smaller you need to go too.

I live in San Diego, so the drainage off my tonneau is pretty much car wash, condensation, and that occasional shot glass of rain we get in February.

When OP said he had factory bed liner, I assumed it to be a drop in that is covering the grommets in your pic.

 

Good catch. I haven't had a drop in liner since my 2011 and didn't think of that.

 

Only thought of it cuz my '19 I got last year came with one, so it was in there when I got the tonneau.

I HATE those plastic liners with a passion.

 

The 3rd gens dont have that

 

Correct the factory drop in doesn’t have the plastic plugs. Saw a video on YouTube that doesn’t show you installation just the folding back & latching of Toyota trifold. When I bought truck finance guy said Toyota’s were recalled (will fly off). YouTube video has drain tubes going into inner more centered bed drain holes. Probably will have to take my bed rails off to be able to clamp tonneau side rails on. Going to get on this soon before winter comes. Thanks everyone for all your support
