Yes, that is what I have wanted for years and years. I go on those long ass road trips in the upper peninsula where you bet your ass there aren't any chargers so being able to still just use gas and do my thing would be amazing but getting good economy while doing those road trips would be the cherry on top

Anything & everything Chrysler will have a MINIMUM of 6 recalls and then owners will fight like hell throughout their warranty Lifetime... :( ;)

When you work the service dispatch desk of one of the busiest dealerships you see exactly what the F@C& can & will go sideways...

Exactly why I left cars and went back into Large Car's.....:hattip:

They , Chrysler F@CK$ everyone to share the blame...

Rant over but your get the gist.... I totally HATE one of the BIG 3

That's a nice payload capacity even with both a battery and gas engine. Makes me wonder what Toyota would be capable of if they put a little effort into their engineering.

Very similar to a diesel-electric locomotive, if I understand correctly. In my opinion, something like this is the future, rather than BEVs.

First of all, I suggested an all electric vehicle that had an onboard gas generator to power the electric motors/charge the batteries, a decade ago, before it was cool.
All the responses I got were "that'll never work".
    Whatever. Blow me.
Anyway, since the gas engine isn't directly driving the vehicle, I think it's a waste to have a V6 as a generator.
They could use a little inline 4 and save some weight and space.

The problem with plug-in hybrids is now you have an EV and a ICE vehicle in one, that's a LOT of components to potentially fail.
Going strictly EV, you eliminate 99% of the maintenance and a lot of the potential for mechanical breakdowns.

Just think of how reliable and durable someone like Toyota could make a small 4 or 6 cylinder if it only needed to generate electricity at a few targeted RPMs. That’s the action I want…electric torque and performance while able to tow and refuel anywhere.

Yeah true.. I guess if you're getting rid of the trans, axles, diffs etc, that's a lot of maintenance/issues out the window

I think the gist of the article was that it's not able to be well executed with a small generator. He had to stop for 5 - 6 hours per day to charge, and still had to charge overnight at hotels. He had to limit speed to keep from sucking the batteries dry, and still averaged only 24mpg at 50 miles per hour. You might as well get a Prius. But also, I wouldn't go 1800 miles in a car, regardless of what type. Boeing and Airbus make great vehicles for that.

I've ridden in a Tesla, and even the base model is extremely fun. I can't imagine something that can hit Ludicrous Speed or whatever. But it's not a long trip car, and that's just that.

It's just called ad blocker. Not sure if it's just an app or an actual browser.

I like their summer ale. It has an ever so subtle hint of citrus. Is this like that, or does it taste like beer mixed with lemonade and OJ?
