Hey guys!!

Here we go again with a new coilover drop for you Tundra guys!!!

We have a basic front coilover setup for the 2nd Gen Tundras, 3'' solid lift, no adjustments, just slap in and forget about it. Easier for those people that don't want the adjustable setup!!!

How many clip settings are on these shocks? I know there's a highest setting that mentions it's not recommended, but is there a lower setting, closer to 2" as well?

Hello Kyle,

There are 3 clip settings on the shocks themselves but we highly recommend sticking to the pre-set clip setting for best ride quality and overall longevity of the suspension.

Just spoke to manufacture and the bottom clip setting will yield closer to 2'' of front end lift. We would not be able to assemble them, we do offer springs and shocks by themselves if wanted.



We have not tested the lowest clip setting so at this time I can not say how much lift it will yield.

Why are some of your coilovers listed for 07 and up, and these are 07-15? Curious what was different.

Can you elaborate how these differ from 5100s and the OEM springs?

 

The reason being we state that 07-15 is because the 16+ have a little bit of a different coil spring rate (stock) so we are not 100% sure what the ride height will be quite yet.

So the Bilstein shocks do offer a Digressive valving in the shock as to the Eibach's have a progressive style valved shock with a coil spring that is built around/ specifically for that shock.


The Bilstein shock+ OEM coil spring will only yield 2.25'' of front end lift, preloading the OEM coil spring or manipulating it to a different coil rate to give you lift will reflect in firmer ride quality especially with digressive valved shocks, and you will be loosing travel with a pre loaded coil spring.

The Eibach coilovers will be built at the middle setting of the shock, giving full range of travel within the shocks limits, along with a larger/ taller spring with a heavier spring rate will reflect in better ride quality and performance both on and off the road.

Can you tell us the specs on this set-up. Specifically, I would be interested to know the following:
Coil spring rate
Coil spring length
Difference between extended length and the total collapsed length of the shocks.

I am curious to see how they compare to something like the OME set-up.

By the way, I got 3.5 inches with the OME 614 in the front without manipulating anything.

 

Ditto. I have at least 3" lift with my OME with 614 coil and 100lb Ranch Hand hanging on...

 

Can't go wrong with the Eibachs' but prefer my OME ToyTec setup. Thanks again ToyTec!!

 

It's nice to see another quality budget friendly coilover setup offered from ToyTec. Definitely a notch up from the Bilsteins IMHO.

 

Nice..plus a little more lift Would these pair up with SPC Uca's well you think?

 

Of course. If I'd stop buying tires and batteries..the SPC's are next. Maybe I can win a pair in ToyTecs next customer appreciation day raffle........

Will these be just fine alignment wise with stock UCA's?

 

Close but no cigar. The SPCs will fix that.

 

Close like barely in spec or close but won't drive quite right? Did 2.5" on my 4Runner 5th Gen without UCA's and it never quite felt "right".

It's hard to get perfect alignment. You end up with almost perfect. Not a huge deal. Remember after all you are changing OEM geometry. There is always going to be some give and take. Upgrading the UCAs brings you back to the ideal alignment.

 

But, if I add your mythical brake pads from other thread I seconded it is magically perfect though? I gathered that from other thread....



Thanks for info, was hoping to save the cash but seems like they are worth it. I know in hindsight before the tree crushed my 4Runner I wished I had them. I'm still not convinced the shop did a proper alignment though.

 

There will be folks chiming in soon enough like our two Mods who have completed thier setup with SPCs and beyond.........$ like Total Chaos for example. All about your money tree. SPCs are budget friendly and very good. There's always better. Depends what you do with your Tundra. Ask jberry. Resident forum suspension guru along with ColoradoTJ.

You did get pissed off and take a chain saw to that tree and turn it into kindling...I hope....

 

If you get the Eibachs' ....get the diff drop too. Not really needed but easy to install and quite frankly a good thing to do.....

 

I may be interested in being the guinea pig on a set of them at the bottom setting (if they are indeed at the 2" mark).

I'm honestly surprised no manufacturer makes an even 2" front coilover or regular bilstein 5100 type adjustable shock with a 2" mark designed specifically to level out a 2nd-3rd gen Tundra without having to add anything in the rear. Seems like there would be a huge market for it for the guys who want level without going up to a 3/1.

I'd be first in line.

 

Still pissed at that damn tree.... loved my Trail!


But, the frustrating road led to a Tundra, so can't complain a year later after a short stint with a Tacoma

Thanks for the tips on the UCA's, definitely want it to align and drive properly when finished. Don't need anything fancy, just an honest good driving 3" lift. Mostly on roads, but in construction so haul/tow and navigate land/new lots regularly as well.

 

Big ass tree....It's always good to look for that silver lining....glass half full. Like the folks in south Texas need to do....Those Texans (like me) are showing the world their "grits".
