    Ok,

scheduled an appointment for an oil change at local dealer at 0930 today.

Service dude told me walk in customers have priority and my truck would be done between 1500-1700. This has never happened in 5 hrs and I didn’t believe him.

Well. It’s 1513 now. It’s almost 5.5 hrs later. Called dealership, tech isn’t avail neither is service manager. Front desk gal didn’t know what to say.

for those peopl who will comment. yes I could change my own oil, but I don’t.

Am I wrong to be fired up?

and yes he told me but when doesn’t an appt have priority over a walk in?

They prioritize walk ins over reservations??????

Get you a different dealership, that is just poor business. There are 3 dealerships closer to me, but I make a drive to 1 that does good work, owns their mistakes, and had phenomenal customer service.

I think you have a right to be fired up, but doesn't sound like they give a fuq.

Just got the truck. They were very apologetic. comped the oil change has the lead tech do the inspection. and explained the mix up. Their customer service came through.

Find a well regarded local garage, every town has one and use them.

I would have walked out when they told me they prioritize walk ins.

You should have cancelled your appointment, drive around the block and came back as a walk in.

I'm with Robert, that's bullshit. Unfortunately, it seems like every dealership has the same model. I'll make an appointment at 9 AM for the "service 1" on my truck, which is essentially just an inspection since I rotate my tires myself and they'll still need to keep the truck all day. I don't see why I shouldn't just make a 3 PM appointment in that case.

Scheduled appointments should be honored and walk-ins should be first come first served.

I may differ with some here, but...I'd give them *one* more chance, ONLY because customer service came through. I'd probably say something like "I'm not one for ultimatums, but at literally any other place that provides oil changes, I can be in and out within an hour or so with an appointment." And leave it like that, and make one more appointment in the future, and see how it goes. If that one goes bad? F**k 'em and feed 'em fish heads.
