I miss my green plates. With it I was only required to have a rear plate and not a front one.

Because it has nothing to do with BMF being an acronym for something. I feel that BLK is what's blocking me.

Speaking of plates and stuff. USPS informed delivery informed me my registration sticker was arriving. It did not. Shit. I should probably call somebody. Lol.

I'm not sure how it slipped through but down here in GA a lot, and I mean a lot of people were pre-assigned tags with CUM as the first 3. Even saw one that was CUN7. Those poor poor souls.

I bet someone already has yours. Tx went with the 3 letters followed by 4 numbers format a few years back. Someone just happened to wind up with my name randomly.

I like that. Actually, my truck was named Black Mamba 18 years ago. So my user name is my truck's name.

Would you guys take a job in sales with no company vehicle? I've been offered a promotion but found out they do a monthly stipend instead of a company car. I'm not going into debt for a new job and I don't want to rack up miles on either vehicle. Under 250 miles I also have to pay for fuel. Over 250 miles they pay.

I'm guessing annual miles would be at least 10,000.

Depends on the stipend. Most are very UN-generous. And it only makes sense with a 23mpg+ low maintenance, low payment

My brother works for a mail machine conglomerate and takes the stipend to pay towards a car payment. Every few years he trades out for another new Camry or Corolla. Works for him.

Well, 10k miles is below the national avg of 12k-15k a year. If we take that at 12k a year that would be roughly 230 miles a week. Let's just say a tank a week. Let's also go high and say $100 for a tank. If they tax that at 30% that leaves $630 fo you. Minus the $400 for gas leaves $230 in your pocket. Roughly.

Doesn't include all the wear and tear on my vehicle though. Tires, oil changes. Honestly it could also end up being 20,000 miles annually.

I'm trying to make it work in my head. $900 seems like a lot until you consider how expensive everything is. Our vehicles now have 150k and 190k.

The hiring manager is saying he would just let me rent a car as needed on my company card. Why not just give us cars then?

Personally, I'd focus on the other aspects of the job. If it's everything else you want, I"d do it and buy an older economy car.

With BMF's math you'd still come out at least even.

Liability and maintenance. But if you can rent a car for less, and insure it, for less than the $900, I guess it's worth considering. I voted no before I read the amount, which makes it seem doable.

Also consider, supply chain issues and ridiculously priced vehicles and low supply are all reasons for companies to jettison any type of fleet vehicle management.

That’s F’d up. I just got a call from my own Google number and it was a woman speaking Mandarin trying to sell me something. How odd?

I’m gonna have to block that number now.

But then I'm going into debt for a job. If it doesn't work out I'm stuck with a car I never wanted. Interest rates are..7%?

The car has to be nice enough to shuttle around clients occasionally. I wonder if I could find a used Camry or something similar for $20k.

    BL MAMBA?
    BK MAMBA?

BK can also mean Brooklyn, but I mean ... it's also the acronym used pretty heavily for color also, when truncated to two leters.
