    Hello All,

I have a two-part question. I have an early 04 Tundra, needing lower ball joints. Will the lower ball joint recall kit 04006-62134 work for this one?

Second question. I have an early 2001 Tundra, will the lower ball joint recall kit for that also work?

I do not believe either of my vehicles was in the original recall per the Vin numbers.

    Thank you!

    Very likely, yes.

    No.

Your best bet to confirm since you have two trucks is to look at the four bolts that hold the LBJ to the steering knuckle and throw a wrench on them as well. The bolts on the '04 should be spaced out in a rectangular pattern and use a 17mm wrench. If a 17mm is a perfect fit, then the recall kit will work. In addition to the recall kit, I would buy 8 new LBJ bolts, 90105-12316.

The bolts on the '01 should use a 14mm wrench and spaced out more even of square pattern.

The '01 will need 43340-39356 (left) and 43330-39466 (right). You should also buy 8 new LBJ bolts 90080-10066. On the '01, There is an aftermarket option for the 8 LBJ bolts that are stronger from ARP. ARP part number 663-1004. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-663-1004
