Hopefully no crims are reading this. My financial adviser, Tyler said I need to charge $120 per hour, with a 4 hour min for my consulting advice

Why are you equipping yourself w/communication devices... having a device means you have an accomplice; having an accomplice means you have a weak link in your chain; having a weak link in your chain means it can break; a broken chain means you're sure to fail...

Nobody has stuck any thing in my tail pipe for at least 15 years
I do remember when they put your vehicle on a dyno and stuck the thingy in your tailpipe

You remember that too? The State made all shops that did inspections buy/finance these ridiculously overpriced machines that mom and pop stations couldn't afford, and had no idea how to work on or maintain. After a huge backlash, the State dropped the mandated machines with a massive loss of taxpayers $$$$.

:rofl:I used to squeeze an extra month out of my sticker every year. Fuckers got wise and passed that law your vehicle inspection keeps the same exp month so now inspection stations have to have stickers for every month up to the current month

One thing they still do is to jack up your front end to check for tie rods/ball joints, even on new trucks. I make sure I'm outside the bay and make eye contact while the 19 year old dipshit manipulates the jack near my truck.

Having a plate helps LEOs, but requiring a front plate is purely a convenience and additional ticket generator. It's not needed.

I'm 99% in the "back the blue' camp as well with the 1% I don't support being the DBags that shouldn't be cops in the first place. I've got a buddy who has always been very pro LEO even with rumors of his local PD being the towns "biggest gang" and he is in the process of trying to get some badges pulled after a shit interaction. I was shocked because we are both big supporters of law enforcement.

Long story if you are interested:
His wife was in an accident while I was visiting, we boogied over and arrived on scene and he hopped out and ran over to see her. He got to ask if she was okay before he got blindsided by 3 or 4 of them who slammed him into his wrecked truck, gave him a shot to the kidney, and were trying to wrestle him to the ground. That all happened in the 15 seconds it took me to get my truck off the road and in park. I got up there and had to explain they needed to deescalate because he's a combat vet with serious PTSD who was not going to handle being grabbed very well. The 4 that were on him couldn't get him to the ground. (He was proud of that a couple days later.)
Anyway, while I was trying to calm him down they were still putting one cuff on. Got them to chill TF out and uncuff him with a promise that I'd walk him a bit away. Now, I didn't see that initial reaction while I was parking so I was confused about how he wound up with them trying to cuff him in the first place. Talked with him a little later, after dealing with the accident issue and making sure his wife was ok, and he laid it out. Told me a bystander that was recording it all was sending him a video.

A couple days after this I reached out to see how he was feeling and what the video showed. Well, his lawyer told him he cannot share the videos from bystanders (I only knew of one at the time) and the traffic lights until it is all resolved, but that it was a blatant case of excessive force and, though there likely wouldn't be money in it, he could 100% get badges yanked. Pissed blood all night, and that is what prompted his call to the attorney. He was advised to go to the hospital the next morning and he had a fracture in his elbow and both wrists with serious bruising of his kidney. Lucky it wasn't lacerated. That same day he got a call from the PD trying to apologize for the previous night, but he had already talked with his lawyer and told them exactly what he was instructed to. Something to the effect of "Under advisement of legal counsel I am not discussing this situation with you without legal representation and my medical bills are being forwarded to ********** PD. Please do not contact me again."

Last update he could give was that at least one of the officers involved had multiple reports of excessive force in his file.

I still support LEOs because I know this story is an outlier for most, but when there are jackasses doing stuff like this they need to get fired. I honestly hope his lawyer is wrong and he gets some compensation for it too. It was a complete shit show.

No worries about my feels, though. I know it's just conversing. :fistbump:

My issue with a law isn't with LEOs, but the law makers. There is too much legislation on the books. Much of it is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. The kickbacks, back scratches, and cronyism throughout local, state and federal legislative bodies is obscene.

Understandable. I'll take it though. It's dark when I go to work and dark when I get home through the whole winter, even if we didn't dick with the clocks.

Me too for the most part. I like and can deal with the snow but the lack of sunlight is what gets to me.
