I was at the Dealership getting a few things done and they did a routine test on my battery. According to them I need a new battery. Battery starts the truck just fine and all guages work fine. I assume they are trying to pull a fast one? That seem correct.
According to their test battery tested at 520CCA and they say should be around 710CCA. Votage is 12.59V which seem perfect.

Right, you measure off of Voltage. What are they measuring?

Buy a cheap auto battery load tester and know for sure yourself.

It's a good item to have anyways.

As for "that sound right". I don't trust anyhing a dealer tells me. My local mechanic, yes (usually), but not the dealership.

    You just wait
I wouldn't trust the dealer to tell me my truck was on fire or not.

Time to buy a battery load tester. Harbor freight one should get the job done. I wasn't going to buy a battery from them. I can see how people get sucked into their smoke show if you haven' a clue on what going one.

12.6 volt is a healthy battery. If it drops down to 12.3, then that means there’s a bad cell. It sounds like some sound advice from above to buy a HB load tester. You could also probably get it load tested for free at a NAPA.

The shop where I carry my truck for service (mainly oil changes) would tell me I needed a new battery every time I went in. I finally reminded them that Tundras charge at a lower rate than most, and that the lower voltage was why you have to use the GM diode if you use an AGM battery. I got a slightly blank look for a moment, then and "OK" and no battery recommendations since then.

True, Also measure cranking amps and cold cranking amps. Back in my Advance auto part days, I would see batteries at 12.5 or more volts and still only have 200 CCA's and rated at 700 CCA's.
520 CCA's would crank a truck at 80 degrees but would have a hard time cranking a truck at 0 degrees

Hmm.. the truck will be cranking at well below 0 this winter. I guess that will be the true test.

Yes the original battery, so it's over 5 years old. I tested the battery with volt meter when starting the truck. Battery at 10.1 volt when starting. For 50 degrees proabably not a problem but at negative temps I think I am hosed. Looks like I do need a new battery. F**k'ers where right.

Looking at geting Napa Legend Premium battery 36 month warranty. Has 750 CCA.That will fire it up at -20. Anyone running this battery? Nearest Costco is 70 miles away, if it wasn't so far I would buy from Costco.

My remote start killed my factory battery. During Covid, I let my truck sit for 3 months un-used and the stock battery got smoked. Used a Noco repair and recharge but replaced in 2022 on a 2018 truck. the stock battery isnt any bigger than my tacoma. Plan to replace with an AGM if it ever lets me down again. The Odyssey AGM in my Tacoma is great, will be the next progression for my tundra.

Get yourself a multi meter and check your battery in the morning after leaving your headlights on for 2 minutes. Read the voltage as you turn on the truck. If it goes below 10v you need a new battery

I replaced my stock battery last year as it had 500cca when tested it was 3 1/2 years old.I put in a trustart battery. Just replace the battery in my daughters 2019 pro with a Napa 27F and was surprised it was stamped made in Mexico.

If you plan to shop around on a battery, i would recommend:
    Costco- Interstate battery line
    Batteries Plus- X2 Power AGM
    4WP- Odyssey AGM

Some people swear by the NAPA gold batteries as well.

The dealership replaced my battery in July 2022 after my truck sat on their lot waiting for cat parts for 8 months.
It is a TrueStart 84-month battery.
It seemed fine for about a year, but now the truck starts with a little hesitation.
Kinda like when I had a 4 year old battery and it was time for a new one.
My remote start/alarm app will also send a low battery alert sometimes when I shut the engine off.
Not every time I shut it off, but 1 out of 10.
Never had this issue with my Interstate batteries..

Maybe I'll buy one of those load testers..
