Specs for the "motor generator" and non answer from Toyota

I was planning a dual battery system on the hybrid, and wanted to know what are the AMPS specs on that (eg for alternator if its 180A then a 40A DC-DC is fine).

You really thought customer service getting paid minimal wage was going to give you a nerd answer not in the pamphlet?

 

Yes, but it was so easy with alternators to figure out the specs

 

If your question is about the amp rating of the alternator on the Gen 3 Tundra, the answer is 180 amps.

 

The TRD Pro does not have an alternator. It has a "motor generator" . The Prius apparently can provide 100amps to 12V system(or fuse will pop) . No idea about the tundra motor generator. I guess I will have to go fuse locating

 

I did ask the prius people and they have a 100A fuse and 40-40DC converters are used by them for dual battery systems. Do you know where our fuse is?
