This is making me want to buy a 1st gen again. I loved my 1st gens, boost would be amazing.

You have the stock manifolds still, correct? Max I saw was 8.8 on the 80mm with factory manifolds.. I think you'll hit ~9.5!

anybody have some good pics of the harrop, magnuson, or whipple intercoolers with the grill off and how they mount? Trying to figure out which would fit best with my winch and aftermarket p/s cooler.

I still need to do a write up on how I fit the Harrop pump around the OEM trans cooler, but here are a few photos. If you look closely you can I see I pulled the shroud off the cooler and have it spaced out from the core support to clear. I then modified the bracket to mount the pump front-back and found a 90 deg inlet hose. I'm happy to snap more photos tonight if there's anywhere in particular you'd like to see.

I have a winch in a Demello plate in my '07 bumper, so it's mounted down low out of the way.

*Edit* @snivilous Decided I should just type this up now for use on the Harrop information page:

Intercooler pump mounting issues with Harrop and OEM transmission coolers. This applies to '07-13 trucks at min, unsure on grill interferences on later trucks.

PXL_20230901_222932584~2.jpgThe location Harrop designates for the intercooler pump is on the passenger side, next to the radiator, which if you have a OEM trans cooler, is in the same damn spot. I reached out to Harrop and also got some feedback from Prospeed on their solution. Harrop didn't have a solid solution but said they've heard of people either spacing the cooler out away from the core support or moving it inboard as Prospeed does. I tried moving it out and there just isn't enough real estate without cutting bumper parts.

Prospeed was super helpful on FB and sent me this photo of their normal relocation and also a sketch of the bracket they cut for this. From what I can tell, they space the cooler 1 bottom hole inboard, so it's only mounted in 2 places and needs longer hoses. If I had the bumper off the truck, I may have gone this route since I could drill and tap another mounting hole to keep it secured with (3).
    Prospeed Bracket.jpg Prospeed Mounted.jpg
My solution: I removed the shroud off the cooler and spaced it almost as far forward as I could do. Mock up spacers were the SS nuts and I replaced them with black ABS spacers from Amazon.

I then took the OEM pump bracket and cut, ground, bent, and welded until I got to this. The lower hole is mounted off an extending bolt from the fender liner and I used a spacer and self tapper (to be replaced with a bolt/nylock eventually) for the upper hole. I then located a 90 deg elbow hose (Gates 28474) and trimmed both legs to fit the cooler and pump. Electrical connection and pump discharge was left with the Harrop kit parts.IC bracket.jpg

I didn't see if anyone else commented yet but i confirmed that both work properly. And i am also happy to see that i have virtually no knock (even though i knew this from HPT logs but its still always nice to see!) I have only been using the knock feedback as that's all i am concerned with just like sniv said earlier. I primarily only use knock correct learn value to determine if a customer might have gotten contaminated fuel/put diesel in the tank. People do that all the time!

@reywcms @VWTim So it looks like the harrop has the coolant lines on the passenger side and the magnuson and whipple have them running on the drivers side, which would probably fit better with my setup. Is there much flexibility in hose routing and positioning the intercooler or are you pretty locked in to one way?

With the Harrop, there's no way to flip the cooler. It tandems the OEM mounts and runs the lines toward the pass side.

I’m sure you can route the lines anyway you want. But the heat exchanger mounts would need to be modified if you want to change that orientation. I modded line routing to fit my setup

Tried those X gauges for KCLV and KFV and they worked for me as well, thanks @nobodyintexas. Now I’m wondering what others parameters that can be viewed on the data logger can also be viewed on the scangauge with the correct X gauge. I wouldn’t mind seeing injector duty cycle for example.

I would imagine any parameters i can see with techstream can be seen on the scan gauge as long as they can supply us with the x-gauge pid numbers

Spent a few days after work wrenching on dude's Tundra that was dropped off here. Started it tonight and it's running like a champ and no leaks (knock on wood)!

First tune was off on fueling quite a bit so adjusted that and got it warmed up and it's purring. Tomorrow morning drive it to a shop to get the AC charged, and after that will do some proper tuning. Dude shows up at noon tomorrow and will tweak a few more things.

And something I learned, the Innovate gauge includes a relay which I (and I think others) thought was for the gauge----no, it's a power output command from the gauge. The instructions are kind of weird since they describe wiring a relay for the gauge, but they're not describing the relay that's included, that relay is commanded open by the gauge itself. I've had a relay on my truck the entire time that does nothing, and so did this truck until I realized that

Seeing if anyone has insight on monitoring boost via VCM on the HP tuner suite. I see channels for boost and also gauge setup, see attached. The selection is wide and I'm not sure which to run or if HP is capable of monitoring boost?

I'm 99% sure our trucks don't have a MAP sensor or anywhere to pull a signal from.

If I'm mistaken, please let me know asap as I have (2) GM MAP sensors and a 5V power supply I'm building a test harness for, to feed back into the HPTuner via Prokit expansion. Goal is to log boost pressure and inlet vacuum while upgrading my intake box and eventually TB.

Doesn't the Innovate gauge enable you to toss your boost logs and afr into the HP system?

Yes sir that is also what I've heard. Have every other essential parameter covered but never know what kind of boost this thing is pushing...... Until I get a boost gauge

This should work! Does the Innovate connect via CANBUS? If so, logging on HPT will be easy.

I believe @M3Tundra-JK was able to use a serial bus tapped into the USB to monitor via hpt without prolink. Its quite few pages back somewhere in this thread.

Yup, I think that's how most are logging non-canbus AFR's. I was just asking if they had Canbus capability as it would make it super easy to pull into HPT.

The AEM AFR X Gauge series has an ODBII passthrough connector to use when logging to HPT

I asked innovate a few months back if the PSB-1 map sensor could be tied into HPT and they didn't think so, it sounded like the gauge couldn't out that data but maybe tying into it inline could. I'd love to monitor boost on the datalog.

Tune is working great, first drive was successful, AC charge time!

    Reached 9.5psi

    on ramp 2500 to 4500 rpm’s
    Afr stayed around 10.8

I reckon if I stayed in it, the MAF would say hello. Traffic got in the way

    nice

this is just right. It really moves thru that rpm range. I don’t get higher than that with my driving style. That small drop in pulley size sure did wonders

I’ve not installed a PSB-1, do they not have an analog out? If not the Innovate MTS serial out is supported in HPT. No pro link required for the serial input.
