When I installed my Dobinsons 2” Rear Springs my height difference drivers to passenger side was 3/4” off. When I installed my Dobinsons track bar, it leveled out even side to side.

My oem track bar was pulling my drivers side down. When I removed the bolt from the track bar on the axle side, my rear end literally jumped up. I bounced on the rear bumper several times to kinda loosen it up.

Measured several times both height and wheels outside of the fender well and everything was even side to side.

I then installed and adjusted my dobinsons bar based on that. I installed my Dr Kdss track bar relocation bracket thereafter and adjusted my Dobinsons track bar back to stock length and kept that installed as well.

I thought about removing my donbinsons track bar to resell and reinstall my oem track bar to recoup some cash, but nah…

For anyone curious on differences in springs, here's a look at the OE vs OME vs Dobinsons springs.
    • Left: OE
    • Middle: OEM 2866 - 240-300lbs Spring Rate - Free Height: 18"
    • Right: Dobinsons - 220-440lbs Spring Rate - Free Height: 20.25" (measured out of the box)
Note: The free height of the OME is spec, not actual in this picture. I've been running the OME coils for about a year now and probably had them slightly overloaded (or at least very near capacity) for about 6 months. So they look like they're the same height as the OE springs in this picture, but it's probably just spring memory since this was right after they came off the truck.

All in all this was a very easy swap. Took about 90 mins as an out of shape 40 year old. It would've been under an hour if I was back in my 30's.

How you like dobinson springs compared to the ome?

They ride better for me, but I chalk that up to my setup. The OME coils were totally fine when all I had for constant payload was the factory tonneau cover and some tools. Once I started increasing my constant payload with everything I run (topper, rack, house battery & solar, gear, etc), it was evident that I needed to go to a higher spring rate.

From a fit & finish perspective, you can tell the new Dobinsons coils are designed with the 3rd Gen Tundra in mind. They fit better than the OME coils that were originally designed for the LC platform. The OE spring isolator is a very tight fit in the OME coils whereas it fits perfectly in the Dobinsons. The LC setup and the Tundra setup are basically 95% the same, but you can tell the Dobinsons make up that little difference. You probably wouldn't notice it unless you installed everything yourself.

This is really interesting as Westcott has reported multiple Pros being a half inch lower on the drivers side and so is mine with the factory suspension in the rear. I wonder if getting an adjustable track bar or Dr KDSS will fix the issue.

Glad you like it. Might want to invest in some PPF...seriously. If you plan to go off road, you'll be kicking up rocks like crazy along the side. Ask me how I know.

Mine before and after. I added a Dobinson's IMS 3/2 with the adjustable panhard bar and TRD UCA's.

Really appreciate the information. Another noob question: if I started with just the King 2.5 front coilover kit and waited to do anything to the rear, would there be any problem with that? The goal would be to start by leveling the truck with the front kit and then down the road add the rear 2.5 rear shocks. Is this a stupid idea

I mean the truck wont fall apart and crash (I hope). Although I completely understand wanting to do upgrades in stages due to budget, we usually try and encourage customers to do both front and rear at the same time. This will offer the best experience at once and also nice to know all shocks are the same age with the same mileage. Although its against our religion to recommend, if you just want a leveling kit now and have nicer suspension later down the road when your budget allows for it, you may want to consider a basic preload spacer lift as a temporary solution.

It feels good. More firm but I went with heavier springs on the coilovers for a future bumper. The rear works well with the weight of the Diamondback and rack.

Looking to do the same set-up. Could you share which springs you decided to go with on both the front and rear? Thanks

Just installed icon stage 4… Took by myself 4.5 hours (I’ve done this plenty)… A few notes…

Don’t even bother with a Dremel tool to grind down the shock mount box thing. Get an angle grinder.

Pipe or tube or floor jack handle to turn the spanner wrench

Would post pics but damn spanner wrench broke and one side sitting an inch lower

The icon spanner wrench and the adjustment collar on the shock are absolute trash.

I have gone through about 50 pages of these setups and have talked to rogue and some other vendors but I cant get a solid answer. I have the Icon stage one at 2.25 because I have stock UCAs, will the TRD lift UCA allow me to move up to the 2.75 setting? Icon recommends their own UCAs on anything above 2.25 but I have seen several people running other options on higher lift with the trd lift ucas.

    Yes.

Any aftermarket or upgraded UCA is going to accommodate a better range of travel than the stock UCAs. Even if the TRD UCAs don't have the same range of travel as Icon, Total Chaos, etc UCAs...you don't need much more to only go up .5" in preload. If you want TRD UCAs, they should be fine for that.

Yes their instructions on their website.. It’s not a tower per se, just a box around the bottom shock mount.
