Y’all jinxed me. I saw this thread read it. Went to run errands and my volume knob fell off. 6,200 miles. And we are NOT hard on the knob. It appears there’s two hairline cracks on each side, causing to fall off.

These are under warranty right? (obviously super annoying to go to a dealership for this)

As long as folks keep buy em, for bragging rights that they purchased a $200.00 knob.

It’s your money, to each their own. Kinda like my wife and her stupid ass purses. Can’t justify such a purchase, for a small piece of aluminum… same shit different smell with their key fobs… I’ll admit, they are nice. But for the price I can get a couple oil changes.

Legend has it, those knobs are made out of rod bearing material from fail Tundra engines, that’s why they are so expensive…

This brings back memories of my 1999 Toyota Sienna. I replaced the volume knob 4 times. Here we are nearly 25 years later and what has been learned? I guess it's minor in comparison to other issues owners have experienced.

I just put the T U N D R A blackout letters on my front bumper today and realized how cheap and plastic it was. Sad, very sad. Hope it will last for a while....

Agreed 100% we shouldn't have to rely on a back up source on a brand new vehicle.

Rainy nasty weekend so I just added a ribbed version of the 3D print radio knob. I also have the 2-piece design done where the base part can be printed in black, the ring printed in silver or gray, then glued together to look more like OEM. But I need to test print that first to see how the parts mesh before posting the files.

Great job raylo. This could be the start of a new side business. KBR Inc. (Knobs by Raylo).

Naw... unless maybe I could sell them for $200! Maybe if I add TRD text? LOL. But I am not inclined to get into the customer service part of this. Just not worth it for the few $.

And if you don't already know I also have a drill free license plate mount and a brake pressure bleed adapter for 2022+ Tundra. Also available on Thingiverse.

At that price buy a couple and keep a spare in the console. But, OMG did you see the first part in the list below? "Radio control unit" - $3500. That would be a big ouch.

Yeah, I think the unit on my Land Cruiser is around $8000. It's almost criminal what car manufacturers charge for certain things.

I just added the 2-piece design for those of you who might want contrasting colors between the center and outer ring like the OEM knob. Print both parts in colors of your choice and glue them together. Print on a smooth PEI plate or old school glass to get the best finish on the flat exposed parts.

My 5th replacement knob just broke today. These things are made of crap plastic. At $35 a pop to replace I have spent $170, should have dropped the $200 on the other knobs.

Purchased the truck on Jun 10, 2023, modifications will be made!
My wife bought a 2023 TRD-Pro Sequoia last Thursday and on Saturday the volume knob job broke. Dealer closest to our house, not where she bought it, says they are backordered for 2-3 weeks and ordered one under warranty. Dealer where we bought the vehicle had a new one for us that day, not sure if they got it from parts or another vehicle. Next time if they say they are backordered I will ask to "test drive" a tundra or sequoia. Swaparoo.

Will someone please post some pictures of the broken part?? How is this happening four and five times? Are there kids or dogs involved? Adjusting the knob while bouncing offroad? It’s a two finger operation for volume and one finger for on/off. Is that what’s actually breaking them? I wonder if you could fashion a sleeve from a thin piece of metal tubing to slide down over the plastic female coupling part to strengthen it (on a new one before installing) If mine ever breaks I’ll post the how-to on that.

Be glad yours lasted that long, I've never really used this knob, got 2,800 miles on my 2023 Tundra Limited went to turn on the radio and no knob, found it on the floor. The dealer says its on backorder but can get it on Ebay for 24.99. I'll just wait for the dealer to get me another piece of crap. I guess this is the start of Toyota going down hill like everything else.

Can someone post a picture showing the broken/cracked backside of the knob. I really don't want to mess with mine if I don't have too. I wonder if a thin walled bushing/sleeve could be pressed on to strengthen the post.

If mine falls off again I'll take one. but I'm not going to mess with it until it does. I planned on using a baby zip tie around the internal plastic to keep it from expending due to the cracks.

Thank you. The wall thickness looks awfully thin. No wonder they are cracking and falling off.

Ohh super weak. Even worst to me is that all three have broken by itself not me using it. I parked the truclk ,go to work and as soon I got in the truck and touch it ,it was already loose . Wonder if the summer heat is helping making them fail aswell.

Thanks so much for being the first to provide a pic. Definately looks like a piece of thin wall brass tubing cut to length and slid over all 4 prongs will bind them together. Just have to find the right I.D.
High duty knobs on Comml equip have a metal band around the prongs
