Hi, everyone. I recently purchased a 2015 TRD Pro. I want to replace the original mirrors with tow mirrors as I plan to tow a camper. I see the OEM tow mirrors can be quite expensive. I’m curious if anybody on here has any experience with any particular aftermarket ones and if they’re any good. I see that there are a number of aftermarket mirrors online. I’m just looking for a recommendation. I do not have blind spot monitoring. Thanks

If you tow often, buy Boost Automotive tow mirrors. Expensive buy 100% worth it.

Bammer I'm disinclined to acquiesce your request.

tow mirrors off ebay. works the same, and if any of the glass ever breaks you can replace the glass with the ones from boost auto. the only thing you may have to do to get the blinker working on the mirror is depinning 1 wire and putting it into a different slot on the harness

Is depinning a wire something you have to do to make it work for all tow mirrors or just aftermarket ones?

Some of the more affordable ones occasionally have issues with 2 pins being swapped which causes the mirrors not to work as expected. Boost has their stuff wired correctly out of the box. Boost is not cheap but their product is OEM level.

i can only speak to the ebay ones, where i had to de-pin. it sounds like with boost auto you don't have to, but it's also a difference of close to $300. you can find more info in this thread about de-pinning:

Any one have these tow mirrors? Thoughts?

it was slightly annoying to depin, but didn't take me more than 30 minutes to get both done with jeweler screwdrivers.

i will say, i'm in the process of reverting back to regular mirrors with spotter mirrors + aftermarket blind spot cameras now, as these specific tow mirrors feel like dumbo ears for the truck. i know tundras eat gas, but if i can save even 1mpg with the regular mirrors, its worth it to me since i don't tow

I haven't seen a difference in mpg between stock mirrors and the Boost, same profile as the eBay ones so I doubt you will get 1mpg back but the look isn't for everyone. I've been very happy with the added visibility from the mirrors.
