I was pushing for us to get a 4Runner when the wife needed a new car but she ended up going for a palisade instead. So we do have a 2023 Palisade that’s the family rig. I just needed a truck that can fit everyone in a pinch or when camping/adventuring so I’m going for the DC for the larger bed.

I have a 2011 4R that I use as a commuter, and the back window goes down! They are great trucks.

My wife is looking a telluride though. I’m not sure about adding a Kia. She’d be becoming from a Sienna.

I never in a million years thought I’d be buying a Kia/Hyundai but honestly, the tellurides and palisades are pretty damn nice

    This.

They are a bit small for me, but they were in the running when my wife was looking for a new vehicle

We looked seriously at a Telluride but all the dealers here were marking them up by $10k if they had any inventory (this was back at the end of last year). My wife is in a Pilot now.

As to the OP's original question, I may be just a simpleton but the only feature I feel like my Tundra is lacking is 4 auto. I don't even use all the features such at LKA or auto headlights. My wife's car beeps incessantly while we're driving and it gets old quick.

I towed a 5,000 pound (dry weight, so probably 6000 pound) 30-foot trailer this summer through mountain ranges and some of the roughest roads I've ever seen with my 2020 this summer. (I think one of the trailer axles bent on those fine Canadian roads.) It was a nine-day trip covering nearly 5000 miles. Transmission still shifts just fine. Also tripped the overheat transmission warning light backing that rig up a steep driveway because I forgot to put it in 4 Lo. I'll have the dealer swap out the tranny fluid at the next oil change. So far so good. If I did that often, a 3/4 ton would probably be the better choice, but I hope to unload that camper this summer and do not plan on ever doing it again.

I broke all the rules while towing as well. I didn't use tow/haul for most of the trip and just now read the advice to keep it in 4th gear. I only selected gears to maintain speed going down mountains. On some steep grades, I even had it in 2nd to take the beating off the brakes. Tow/haul *seemed* to suck more fuel and did not limit gear hunting. I used tow/haul going up steep grades. But otherwise, as long as it stayed in one gear, I didn't worry about it. On the few occassions it started to hunt, I changed my speed to make it stop. (A friend of mine with towing experience grinned and told me before the trip, "Go 65 and let the cool air flow and if she stays in one gear, she likes that, if it changes gears, she don't like that.")

Still, the truck didn't skip a beat. She sucked fuel like a beast, averaging around 8 mpg over the whole trip. Sometimes I got 10, sometimes 7, according to the Tundra computer. I think some of that Canadian gas wasn't so great. Kept the speed to 65 max. Used a BlueOx sway control bar setup.

First time towing a trailer. So if I didn't kill the 2020 Tundra, with about 13000 miles when I started, without a transmission cooler, those of you who know better should be just fine.

Yup unlike the Tundras. They don’t put anything like cheap plastic stickers on the sides of beds nor plastic pieces on hood on the new trucks.
I don’t like any of it as most, that is why those dang stickers and what ever else is the first to go.
Ram and Chevy are both coming out with high HP trucks and those motors seem to be dialed in. The bad thing is they both will only make a couple hundred of each or less and charge outrageous prices. I wish Toyota would come out with something like the other two and charge less for them wiping out the competition. Ha!
Going to look at the Chevy Sport truck though as it sound like fun.

These mentioned vehicles will not be factory trucks. The company
(Special Vehicle Engineering) out of New Jersey will be the ones that purchase the trucks new then add their HP to them. As it stated in the article on some trucks only 200 or so will be made. The High HP truck will not be coming from the factory!:(
would have been nice to see.

I can just about guarantee these will have GIANT price tags. Super expensive insurance to go with them as well.

Screw you buddies/friends, your Tundra will still be running long after the Detroit junk they are driving has failed.

Don't worry, GM did an annalyisis to show that this is just normal inflation compared to the value of a dollar in 1776.
