Lol, I just checked out my codes that were thrown on the engine light and here they all are… just says misfire and an abs? In the AM I noticed misfire however it was correctly once I restarted.

Thought I would comment back in this thread that I finally got my 4x4 working. The cure was just swapping the transfer case with a junkyard case. I believe the part that failed in mine was the microswitch that detects when 4Hi is engaged. Switch is not able to be purchased and swapped. So it was easier for me to just change the whole transfer case and be done with it.

I’ve had my tundra in the shop for a head gasket (I thought to be) - the mechanic ripped apart my engine and left town. (Long story) but now I have to replace my entire engine due to engine parts missing and etc.

anyways I still have not addressed this issue due to that.. I am thinking to just replace entire transfer case like you did and hope for it to work. What’s the part number for this? Or just search junk yard for tundra transfer case? Was it difficult to swap out?

I got a junkyard case. Not sure the part number, but mine was a little more difficult to find since I have a 4.6 truck. I also didn’t do the swap myself. My truck was at the shop because the catalytic converters had been stolen so I had them swap the transfer case while they had the truck.

Okay thanks. Any idea what the shop charged you or any prices?

Does the transfer case come with the black box I already unjammed to let that mini sprocket inside it spin? I already had that apart and fixed it but still doesn’t engage..,

I think it was 9 hours of shop labor for the swap and I can’t remember what price I paid for the transfer case. I bought it from a scrap yard on eBay.

I’m not sure what black box you’re talking about, but if it’s the actuator then yes a transfer case should come with it. If not, don’t buy it.
