Theres nothing good on there anyway. Mine sucks watching dirtbike races, cause i cant see the number & color of the ticker, so its hard to watch on mute.

 

I think it's going to be wide enough at 28x4, it'll be tough for anyone to block it fully. That crock isn't normally up there, nothing except the growlers and dehydrator are. Normally the crock is under the main sink. Friggin flex line on the sprayer handle for the main sink had a pinhole leak a few weeks back and drenched under the cabinets. I've already had one disposal go out under the main sink, this slow leak probably went on for a week and did more damage than the damn disposal chassis cracking and leaking out. Not sure why so much is dying lately, but I've been running around this damn house like a madman fixing crap lately.

Yeah, my only regret about the gooch cooler is, I really should've installed new end register boxes to align the vents with the counters. But honestly, schedule was tight, and I was light on flooring, so I didn't take time to finagle it all out. Hindsight 20/20, I wish I had cut the subfloor to turn the registers 90deg about 6" off the base of the cabinets.

I mean, I guess it's track lighting, but it's not really track lighting in the sense of what existed several decades ago. The product is something called T-Trak, and it's a standoff based system, where a bar is used to transmit power and the lighting fixtures clamp over the bar. The bar can be flexed into any design you want. A lot of people run this stuff in wave shapes, we opted for straight. You gotta see it, here are some examples:

That's a really good idea that went completely over our heads

 

If nothing else, the stand should be tied to the wall, and the TV should have an anti-tip bracket holding it to the stand.

 

I installed some of that bendy track light many years ago.

 

I dunno, I like it. And it was easy enough to install that the wife actually helped install it all. I also got her to help drywall in the basement. She'd never done any of this stuff before, it was fun handing over the know-how. I guarantee you she'll never do drywall again, but I think she'd be willing to do more electric work.

 

What a great remodel man, looks incredible. Now that's a work space!

Thanks Bro! The only thing that still irks me is this spot. I had to leave a quadruple 6x intact (vertically) that were catching the weight of the master tub upstairs. The builder tripled up on joists from the outside wall to those 6x's to handle the extra load. I'm not down with pulling out support structures, and I know the builder had an engineer look over everything (their info was with the plans), I'm not smarter than a structural engineer, so ...

Sadly, we deleted the master tub 7 years ago, about 7 years after the kitchen reno. I'm temped to revisit that spot, but .... Meh.

That bumpout made cutting the crown up top a real f'n blast. And I dunno if anyone can appreciate the upstairs shit drain we found in that wall, seen in the 2nd "DURING" picture. We also found all the copper supply lines a little further into that wall. All had to be relocated. Then we found the toilet drain ... the plumbers didn't f'n glue the damn thing! It pulled right off. I got pics I can post later.

Haha, right... did that molding come in one peice or did you come up with that style on your own with several moldings? It makes the space look Grand/Important, and that (warm) lighting makes the space inviting, like you'd want to hang out there.

 

That's an old trick to give grandiose look with added function and way less cost.

It's standard 5" crown with a picture rail mounted 10" below, and the area in between painted with the same bright white gloss latex. Nobody has ever walked into the house over the last 20 years and caught that it's not 1pc, but several have asked, "Daaaamn, where'd you get that trim?"

But the picture rail is handy, my wife inherited a shedload of art from her grandparents. We originally hung it all off the picture rail bitd, until we finally decided where stuff would go for a more-permanent home.

She's supposed to jump on a plane home in an hour or two. Hoping she actually makes it. Thankfully not flying out of O'hare though. Gah that airport is a nuclear dumpster fire.

Winter is here

 

How the hell are you getting snow before us? That seems unprecedented.

 

A cold front moved across the South. Our temps dropped around 30 degrees and then it goes from 47 to 67 later in the week.

Ahhhh yes. Another malldozer. Keep it classy GA! Just about enough CB/etc. antennae to host a mobile radio station. Glad they mentioned the 4WD works, because I'm sure someone will be doing some hardcore curb crawling while cruising the parking lots, getting stuck in those treacherous medians.

My wife set our bowl of candy out. Big mistake. Some kid came by and drained it. We never even got eyes on him/her.

 

The Suck starts early with some people. Or maybe it was a cheap neighbor that hadn't bought anything.

I'll do as usual, give out candy for the first half an hour or so, then leave the rest out unattended with a note that says we've gone trick-or-treating and to 'do the right thing'. So far, year after year, this has resulted in kids of all ages, traveling solo or in large groups, taking one or two pieces of candy and leaving the rest. One year though, a late group of teens stole the empty bowl.

 

For what he's got into the CB/Radio setup and those wheels he could have gotten the truck re-painted and some counseling.

 

Yeah, rule #1, never leave candy bowls out. Period. If the kids don't steal it, some trashy parent will. At this point, internet trends have eradicated any inkling of parentally-instilled morals a huge swath of kids may've otherwise had.

 

Bumbled around on MarketPlace after that lexus/truck post and ran into this... one picture that has so much it's saying.

 

Yeah I'm positive it was a single kid and not multiple kids. We barely get any kids most years because our house is on a big hill and they(and the parents) don't want to walk up it.

My wife put a note in the bowl explaining what happened and now the note is gone. What a bunch of little assholes

 

That would happen in the first 10 minutes here.

Unless, of course, it was candy corn.
