I worked at a restaurant once, for one day at a qdoba Mexican grill back in 2001. Nowhere in the ad nor the interview was I told that I had to stay after closing hours to fold silverware. The moment that I was told that I could not leave because I had to fold silverware was the moment I walked out and never returned.

What team did you switch from? I run Ryobi. I used to be all about Troy Bilt before I went electric. Not having to buy gas and mix gas is really awesome.

DeWalt. I used to have a Ryobi weed eater that worked well. Just slightly under powered for what I needed.

Baseboard hides everything, keep that focus on the joints where you clearly are! Be careful to either stagger your lines or don't. Either do the brick thing (where all your verticals line up) or don't. Don't mix the two. Looks good so far!

I just stick built it from the print in my heado_O. The size was dictated under township size/sqft/height limits so permit was not needed, and to minimize wasted materials. It is set up for a small "loft" 10'x4' but I haven't put it in. It's my wife's she-shed thing. Except for the lumber, everything was free/super cheap/craigslist etc... Picked up that door for $50! The walls are all cut from pallets that my neighbors business wanted to get rid of and delivered to me. I ran/pulled 8G to a sub panel, so you can run space heaters/crock pots or whatever. It will make a great "work from home" office for someone when we sell here shortly. This was pre-Tundra, so every piece of lumber and materials (except plywood) was hauled in the Civic. :rofl:I think I have like 2k-2.5k or so into it?

Plant in well draining pot with potting mix. Lay uncapped acorn on side and cover with one inch of soil. Plant in fall (now). Keep soil moist till winter.

Hey y'all fellow access cab owners. Anyone have throwaway front mud flaps? They can be chewed up/rubbed out, faded, I don't care. As long as the outside edge is OK, I'm good. I'm going to cut them in half to make a custom mudflap so I don't have a bunch of fender flare hanging out (until the fender flares potentially go bye-bye).

I'm thinking cut like this, so the two outermost OEM fasteners still have something to hold it to the body (possibly three) .... either along the blue or along the red ... I've got my near-new ones off, I don't want to cut 'em up, they cost too damn much, and I already gave my nice, un-chewed old ones away to either bmf or NickB, I forget. The support line is just half inch or so above the horizontal I'm showing, which will dictate my cut - Giving about 1/2" overhang so it's nice and rigid.

Been looking at diagrams. center pin in the 7 is reverse lights. I'll just wire into the center pin inside a trailer-side 7-pin plug. 1 set screw, 1 pin screw, plug it in & done. Thanks David.

I was able to order a 4 pin & a 7 pin trailer side plug from walmart for $15.25 delivered. A bargain to save my harness from hackery.

    Alright y’all I need some home/cabinetry advice.

I have built-ins and realize my fridge isn’t breathing enough. I need to vent the top of its cabinet to allow for breathing (heat buildup). The vent can be any variation of 2”-4” wide and 20-30” long. I’ll jigsaw it out once I find a register.

I need - ideally - a flush-mount vent or register. I’m having fuggal of a time trying to find any flush-mount register. I know I’ve used these in equipment cabinets at work, but we don’t build steel cabinets anymore.

Anyone know of a register that could work? The cabinet top is 1” oak. Flushmount is ideal, but I can live with up to 1/4” or so of lip.

edit: nvm, think I found it: https://a.co/d/16qLlHe

I know I’m late to the tree discussions…

But if any of y’all are looking to plant a tree in your yard, side yard, parkway, whatever, I’d highly recommend a Quaking Aspen. We planted these two as saplings 2011 or so:

    IMG_8487.jpg
    IMG_4501.jpg

They were actually next to the house, but became too big and we transplanted them to the backyard. We had to cut so many roots that we were certain they were both dead… but they’re both thriving, easily more than 35 feet tall. They’re super pretty in the fall, bright yellow, and provide exceptional shade and they cut down noise on our deck area significantly, especially when paired with our arbor vitaes. (Basic, I know.)

They’re quite drought hardy, we didn’t start watering them until I installed automatic drip irrigation around the whole property this summer. My uncle is an arborist in Madison, Wi, where there’s lots of tree huggers, so he specializes in saving trees that might be of questionable health, and he says that these trees shouldn’t have many issues with invasive bugs and diseases either.

Lots of roots is normal, they send roots/suckers for hundreds of yards, even miles. I remember seeing a story on a PBS show about one species crossing state lines or something crazy like that.

Sadly, we can't grow in the south. Too damn hot.

A tree sprouted in our front yard couple years ago, we let it grow and when it bloomed i'll be damned if it wasn't a sucker off the neighbors beautiful tree... 80-90ft away. Can't remember the name of the tree now.

Not sure how visible your spot is. If you don't want to buy something or if you think that grille's ugly, you may be able to get by with just drilling the equivalent surface area worth of nice, evenly-spaced holes in some part of the cabinet, and staining/using a furniture marker for the insides of the holes so they don't show up as much. I'm thinking of old houses with water heaters and other equipment that needed to "vent" somewhere, and drilling some functional-but-decorative holes wasn't uncommon. If you want something prettier, look at the floor registers used for either floor HVAC or just venting crawlspaces above wood floors, can get some really pretty bronze, brass, etc., that you can even countersink/flush mount. Again, depends on how exposed your vent area will be. If no one can see it, I mean, it's not a Gothic cathedral, just buss' out the jigsaw and cut a hole in it.

It's invisible, it'll be going in the roof of the built-in cabinet, which, unless you're 6'7" or taller, you'll never see. I ended up going with the product I linked, in 28"x4" flavor. Will drill a starter and jigsaw out.

I ended up repairing our fridge after coils froze, then 3 days later, the damper motor went out, a $251 part, so while the freezer worked great the fridge was toast. Tired of fixing the damn thing, so I ended up ditching the 21yo monster and replacing this weekend with a proper counter-depth unit that had more cu.ft of storage (~26). But it fits near-flush in the hole, 1/16" gap around all edges, to I intend to open up the rear to allow for ventilation. Vent will basically go where the crock pot is up top. The fridge is all I could get same-day, apparently there's a shortage on appliances at the moment? Nothing medium- or high-end in consumer brands available for delivery. Got this at Lowes' scratch and dent outlet for 50% off, unboxed but still wrapped from the factory. There are two tiny dings between the water dispenser and freezer handle you can barely make out in this pic. I guess those and an invisible dent on the size are worth ~$1,600 off? Go figure. This thing supposedly only weight 291lb, but it felt more like 500. Ugh.

Clear glass is a knock-to-see feature which I doubt we'll ever use. It's novelty more than anything. Knock twice, the light in the fridge turns on for 5-10sec. Knock twice again, it turns off.

MSRP on this thing is $3,500. Sale ending tomorrow at midnight has them in most stores at $1,000 off. I got this at the outlet for $1,700. Dual icemaker, 26 cu ft of space but with cabinet depth were all clinchers for me. Oh, and same-day availability was huge. Drove the 1GT down, picked it out, loaded it up, and drove it home.
