235k views in ten years from his official YT channel argues otherwise. But interesting video...and I'll admit that's a decent song too.

I do like U2 and have a lot of respect for Queen. As for the Goo Fighters, the only grunge bands (or their follow-on bands) I'll listen to is Alice in Chains (paging @GODZILLA) and maybe early Soundgarden. But for Seattle sound it's Sir Mix-a-Lot, Heart and Macklemore.

Worst band candidates need to include Bush, Stone Temple Pilots and Offspring. I'd probably stuff the ballot box with Offspring...

If you think anyone is going to take you seriously after posting you like Macklemore, you are mistaken, Sir.

Also that you base the success of a song on how many YouTube views it has is hysterical.
You realize there was music before the Internet right?
What are you, 20 years old?
To go by this logic every one of us should be huge Taylor Swift fans, but no.
Although I did see Taylor Swift open for Avril Lavigne many years ago when my daughter was a teenager.

Music is subjective, I don't expect anyone to like what I like, and don't really care what they prefer.

I've got a wide variety of music interests and I've seen literally hundreds of concerts in my 61 years..
Your last 3 most hated are some of my favorites.
The 90s era of music is stuff my kids grew up with.
My 30-year-old daughter and I just saw The Offspring for the 4th time a couple of months ago.
Big fan of pop punk; Sum 41, Green Day (older stuff), Jimmy Eat World (saw them a few months ago as well), and many others.
We've seen Bush 4 times, and STP with 2 different singers (both now dead).
The AIC show we saw sucked, never saw Soundgarden, but we did get to see Audioslave..

A few years ago I took the kids to see the Foo Fighters (one of our favorites) and paid a pretty hefty price for 3 pit tickets.
Glad they got to see Taylor Hawkins play.
Some of the best money I ever spent..

My first concert was in 1978 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
Bob Welch, The Little River Band, The Steve Miller Band, and Fleetwood Mac Rumours tour.
Too bad I was unable to look up YouTube video views back then so I could be told if I should like them or not..

And just for the haters, sometimes I'll listen to Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall in its entirety at work to help the day go by.
I listen to stuff I'd bet none of y'all have ever heard of or would care for, but that's ok.

Led Zepplin can suck a dick.
The Stones do nothing for me.
I like Metallica, but I wouldn't want to see them.

We like what we like, for whatever reason..
One man's trash is another man's treasure..
Life was much better before people started basing their likes and dislikes on whatever has the most internet views..

    My second concert in 1979.
He was big back then, not so much of a fan of him now.
Only Women Bleed is a good song.
    I hear he's a great golfer...:rolleyes::D

    I'm a little disappointed.
Pretty much all the music opinions so far are incorrect.

Your music tastes are, in fact, extremely varied. Most of it my wife liked and I just couldn't listen to it. Other selections, however, I really enjoyed despite not having heard the music before or even heard of the group or artist.

I have always enjoyed Fleetwood Mac. @Mrs. WBW & I attended a concert of theirs a couple years ago when they were in Phoenix [sans Lindsey Buckinham unfortunately) and it was a great show. I would have loved to have seen them in their heyday.

I like The Offspring. I grew up in the 90's though, so alot of that music is going to be more to my taste.

That's actually the most accurate way of putting it for me too. There's like...3 bands where I'll listen to and enjoy nearly every song they put out. For everything else, it's a couple songs here and there. While my playlists are heavy on metal and hard rock, there's everything from rap, country and pop to blues, classical and acoustic stuff.

@LarryDangerfield I asked a couple other guys your question about the top 3 Metallica songs to get into them and the consensus was Creeping Death, Call of Ktulu and Trapped Under Ice.

Really just listen to the whole Ride the Lightning album start to finish.

I never understood the obsession that so many people have with needing to fit every band into a category. "Grunge" is a good example. What exactly is grunge? Any band from Seattle in the 90s? How many bands are actually in that category? 4? 5?
None of the bands that came out in that era sound anything like one another.
I'm not a fan of Nirvana. I like a few songs from Soundgarden, Pearl jam has a few good tunes, but I've never gone out of my way to listen to them. I like a ton of stuff from foo fighters. I think STP has a lot of good songs. Not sure if they're all considered grunge, but I never think of it in those terms. I just think of the band and the song. I don't think those bands sound anything alike.
Country on the other hand,.... I don't hate it, but I don't listen to it. Most country bands/songs can easily be put in a category because so much of it sounds alike and follows the same patterns.
Rap is kinda the same in that way. I actually dislike 99% of it.
But, once in awhile there'll be a song or 2 that I really like and it doesn't really matter to me that I dislike 99% of the genre it belongs to.
    Like this one

I'm also a big fan of Tool. I like a lot of their songs. I'm sure they're considered metal, but I don't really like most music that's stuffed into the metal box.

I was a huge GnR and Metallica fan when I was 14-16ish.
When I hear it on the radio now, I usually change it. Not sure what changed. I still like most of the stuff I liked as a kid. Those 2 did a 180 for some reason.

So I know Ford is practically a swear word here (and rightfully so) but if any of you have spent any time in one, do you absolutely despise the Ford chime as much as I do? If for some weird reason I ever found myself in a Ford I would put genuine effort towards trying to disable that chime.
