Just got my new (2022) 4x4 Tundra Limited…it has the stock tires.

I live in TX so snow tires are not needed here. However, 1 month per year, in the winter, I need to go to Utah, where the snow is plentiful.

Unfortunately I’m not able to have 2 sets of tires to switch around.

I’m not looking for the “best possible” snow tires, as that would be a poor choice during the 11 months while I’m in TX.

Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for an “in between” tire, that will provide some assistance while in UT, but still a great everyday tire in TX.
    Thx.

My Toyo Open Country AT3 tires are amazing in the snow. Zero problems starting or stopping. I would highly recommend this tire.

Michelin LTX M/S 2. I'm in the Great Lakes region where we get lots of snow. That Michelin has performed well for me in snow and ice due to the large amount of siping on the tire edges and the compound. Highlty rated for wet/snow/ice traction, quiet on thr highway and also a great summer tire.

Just look for tires with the 3peak rating. Many all terrains have them. Even more all-seasons. No real mud tires will have them.

Yes 3 peaks! I ran nitto tg xl load on my past truck and it was so bad on wet roads just no grip to pull out. Called a local small shop and they put the Faulken wildpeaks wow night and day period. Tundra when due will get these too.

I used the crap out of my AT's today. We ended up with about 12" of snow. IMG_2724.jpg

I also live in TX and am running Toyo Open Country AT3s. Run well for me 90% on the highway and have had no problems light off-road and winter conditions.

Prior to this, I spent the last 10 or so years living in New England, running a Tundra, a Sequoia, and an F150.
Ran the following tires all with good results in the winter, in all conditions, listed in order of preference: Hankook Dynapro ATM RF11, Cooper Discoverer AT3, BFG AT2.

I really liked the Hankooks and will probably go back to those when my current tires wear out. Wore great, were quiet, and performed well.

    Bed cover, bed step,
I am also looking into AT tires. I am looking at increasing the size on my stock 22 Tundra sr5. I am looking at the 285/65R 18's.
Will they fit my truck without a lift kit?
