A Well the family is expanding with a 4th kid and I've already got the bench seat. Looking for someone to upholster it to match the rest of my leather.

Question 1: can the factory bucket seat be made to fit while using the 60% bench also so I can retain the electric seat options for me at least?

Question 2: what has everyone done to fix the missing carpet under the center console that's missing? I can't find a new/aftermarket carpet for a DC that's solid all the way across.80826.jpg 80556.jpg

Thank ya. Well he had some good points in his thread that I was unaware even existed. I have no clue what your model my seats are even out of but I don't think they're from an 05 or 06. I remember seeing the guys truck that I got them from but it seemed like an older truck if I remember correctly. I'll most likely have to do a lot of custom brackets and I'm glad he has some info about the wiring because I was totally unaware that was even an issue also.

This is exactly why I have a front bench. We have 7 kids. So, on to your first question: Yes, you can add the 60% portion to the passenger middle and still retain the drivers (power seat) bottom. You will, however have to remove your upper seat back armrest in order to utilize the bench seat back.
As far as carpet, you are on your own. I am not aware of any double cab being produced with a bench seat. I would suggest putting a piece of carpet up underneath the OEM carpet just to cover the hole. Good luck and congratulations!

EDIT: I am sure there are tons of folks out there that would pay money for the center console and factory passenger front seat. You may be able to retain some value from those items. Especially since you have reached over 50 messages and are now in compliance with BST regulations.

Woah 7 kids! How do you even haul that many? Yea I figured it would probably be of some value but I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet. My mom has an identical truck to mine except hers only has 60k miles but hers is missing the center console because she bought it from a fire department that used it as a command vehicle and they had a custom center console for the radios but that's the only thing missing out of the truck so I'm just probably going to give it to her.

Four kids in the middle row, somebody shares a seatbelt, and everyone keeps their mouth shut when daddy gets pulled over by the state trooper
Edit: 15% tint all rear windows

 I mean if he gives you one look then I think he will sympathize and let you go with a warning because obviously all the money is gone. I can't imagine what someone would have to do for me to want and give them a ticket when I see on the other responsibilities they have on their plate.

If you're gonna do it, do it right.
    I stopped at 3. I wish I woulda had 7.
It woulda raised the odds of having at least one that wasn't an idiot.

Do you have any pics of what it looks like with the console removed?
I wonder if they make something like a weather tech mat that covers the tranny hump for the trucks that come with the center seat.
Or, maybe cover it with a thick rubber, have it long enough to go down the sides and tuck under the floor mats.

Or, find factory carpet floor mats and make something out of that. If you want carpet and want it to match.

Not a pic of my truck but my mom's truck is missing the center console so I can grab a pic of hers....gonna give her my console. I may even snatch the carpet out of an AC part out that has beige carpet and make a cover piece and have it professionally sewn in maybe.

I have definitely seen (in person and online) DC's with bench seats. I would be super surprised if it wasn't an option from factory. Now I doubt there are many, but they're out there.

TS forum had a lot of folks in that thread that had bench but wanted to swap (I even think one was a DC). Maybe try that route first for a bit if the Ms. isn't due for a while. I like my console, but I do like me a bench seat and wouldn't mind swapping either TBH.

Yea it'll be like 6 more months. I'm gonna do some more research but try to keep my driver bucket and get the 60 reupholstered to match factory leather. Might start experimenting in the next few weeks with fitment and finding a factory carpet that I can take a piece out of.

@The Black Mamba needs to be bench-swapping a Sequoia.

OP have your actually removed your console yet? The part without carpet was pretty small on the Sequoia I robbed my console from, i.e., it wasn’t the whole footprint, just a big square. Something you could put a rear seat carpet or maybe a freebie carpet square over.

I haven't actually removed mine but my mom has an almost identical truck and hers is removed when she bought it because it was a firefighter truck and they had all their radios in the center because it was a command truck and I'm going to give her my console to cover up her bare spot in the carpet. It's not huge but it's probably the exact same size in my truck as hers. I figured I would find a truck being parted out with the same color interior and Rob the carpet out of it and have a custom mat made or if I can find an AC then just cut out the section that goes over the hump in it because I assume it would match pretty good and then just have it sewn in by professional.

EDIT: if I was @The Black Mamba then I would be looking into having one of those six-door trucks made and have three bench seats in a DC. I've seen them build some pretty nice six-door trucks for around 20 grand and that's cheaper than a new car. If for some reason I had as many kids as he does that's what I would do.

One other thing is to check car-part.com for bench seats in leather. Everyone swears up and down that was never a factory option but there are always 1 or 2 trucks somewhere with a 60/40 leather bench. In my experience (I was looking several months ago but gave up) the driver seats are typical ratty-azz cracked and ripped junkyard leather, but the 60-side was always decent enough. I didn’t realize you could make the bucket work in lieu of the 40-side if you removed the armrest or I might have bitten the bullet on a bench.

Anyhow, might be worth looking into rather than paying to upholster a 60-side.

I just searched again with your zip code, OP, and it seems like the only things close to you are 2000-2003 year models with a leather bench, so you'd need to see if anyone's swapped those benches into a 2004-2006. (I understand 2004 to have been the first year of the DC and when several other major changes were introduced in our trucks.) Interestingly, I keep seeing those two-tone leather benches, where the outside will be black and the seat part either tan/oak or gray.

Edit: I don't read gud, I see in your first sentence of the OP you already HAVE a bench seat, it just doesn't match! Anyway, leaving my recommendations here for posterity.
