Having a problem starting my 22 Platinum. It is almost like there is a draw on the battery. I had to do some traveling and left it at home. Eight days into my trip, I tried remote starting and found out it had a dead battery and wouldn't start. When I got back, I called R.A. for a jump. Got it started, ran it for a bit, drove it for another bit, got the battery charged back up. Turned it off, waited a few minutes, and started it again. No problem. Next morning, it started just fine. Then yesterday morning, hopped in and it was dead again. I am suspecting that they dash cam is creating a draw on the system. Damn thing doesn't work right anyway. I think it just stays on continuously. DashCamProtect. I unplugged it last night and it remote started this morning.
Anyone else experience a problem like this?

Do a battery load test with a meter and go from there.

Rewire your dashcam so it's switched.

It's easy to test for a parasitic drain (or short) on the battery. Just disconnect the negative battery cable, then connect an automotive test light to the cable and touch the probe to the negative battery post. If the light comes on, there's a drain. If so, you can pull fuses one by one until the light goes out. That will be the circuit that the drain is on.

My 22 Pro (hybrid) had a battery failure found during my 25k service. They replaced it under warranty, so I suggest you take your truck in for diagnostics.

Was this the 12V or the Hybrid battery? I plan on taking it in, but I did narrow it down to the dealer installed dash cam. I unplugged it and am waiting for dealer to fix it. The dash cam manufacturer is actually dealing with it.

Of course the light will come on. This is not the 1970s vehicle where a 12 Volts relay was the most advanced piece of electronics. This truck has like 50+ computers. Once the battery is connected, there will be a significant "drain" until all the computers go low power.

It was the 12v battery. They replaced it with a true start.
