General Supercharger Thread

I had no issue when I installed the RFC TB, ideal and driving was the same.

 

It ran fine for about 7 minutes & then thought there was no TB, had to limp home, pulled the battery & no issues since.

 

My idle was up and down for a bit after swapping in the RCF throttle body before it smoothed out.

 

Did my first oil change since I had the Hewett canister, installed it.

 

I recently purchased one of those, but I probably won't get it installed untill my next oil change in the spring.

Mine have been in for a while now, maybe even close to a year...

 

I hate that they're called "solid". Was talking to Fastlane the other day and had to clarify and check that they're not actually solid mounting the engine. Maybe I'm the only moron that's been confused by that though

Was thinking about that. Something has to give.

 

It's somewhat common on racecars. Was debating it on my buggy but I didn't see any benefit to it. If you solid mount one component of the drivetrain then (supposedly) everything else should be solid mounted. I'd also think on anything without a cage/tube chassis that the frame isn't remotely stiff enough either so you'd end up heavily loading the drivetrain as it'd become a stiffness element. That's all where my brain goes with "solid motor mounts"

Didn't require anything special, I think the most difficult bolts to access were the ones holding the mounts to the engine block, just need the right combination of extensions and swivels to get you the best leverage.

I noted just the slightest bit more vibration. Nothing that bothers me...but I drive a commercial vehicle...

 

The only time I notice extra vibration from mine is when I’m backing it out of my garage after I just started it and it’s cold and the idle is still high. Up to temp I’ve never noticed anything. Was probably not a necessary mod for me since I don’t do high speed offroad, I just liked the idea of twisting my wheels when snapping the throttle open instead of twisting my engine in the soft OEM mounts! When they say the words “group buy” I listen!

Did you get one of those valves for the oil pan too?

 

Already had the Fumoto on the oil pan.

 

I've got them installed. They're great.

 

I’m sure some of you guys saw the pic Figs posted of the Magnuson 2650 heat exchanger, here it is for those that didn’t. Oooohh, so that’s what that looks like.
