Just got a call from the Toyota dealership i ordered my grill from. He told me they were informed that i might not see this grill for 9 to 18 months. If anyone is selling or knows someone that is selling a white TRD Pro Sequoia grill please contact me. thank you.

That is my question as well. Looks to be unpainted ABS plastic. I can't find what the OEM grill is made of. The OEM grill comes painted, so it looks better in pics than the aftermarket version. But The pic of Golem's ride looks great, so I think I will take the risk. I just am not sure how hard it would be to paint it with Toyota 202 Black and the best place to source the paint. The Insert only option posted by SocialExpedition looks nice, but the existing grill surround stays which makes it look a little less mean than the full replacement option.

How much did you spend on the paint job, if you don't mind me asking?

I called a few dealers today for the OEM grill and they all said it is backordered nationwide and that due to the number of backorders, it is possible that even when the part does become available, they won't have enough to fill all orders. So I think I am going to go with the aftermarket options noted earlier in the thread. Are any paint experts in the forum with suggestions on the process of painting the aftermarket ABS plastic grill?

My truck is 202 black, so was planning on spraying with that color, then adding 1K clear coat. Do I need to prime, sand, etc at all in this process? 2K clear coat seems like a better fit for a grill, but am concerned about the hardening agent required and the robust respirator requirements since it contains an isocyanate hardener. I know I could go to a body shop, but I don't want this grill project to cost 1K+ when taking into account the cost of the grill, brackets, molding, etc.

I am hoping for the gloss to match that of the truck pain and not look dull or matte. Here is a pic from the thread showing the OEM grill along with it implemented on a truck similar to mine. Hoping to match these pics.

My grille is showing up tomorrow! I was able to find a Toyota dealership that had some TRD Pro grilles left. They didn't have the color I wanted but since I didn't want to wait 18 months for a white one because of the backorder, I decided to just paint the one I got instead. Stoked to get this grille on! Thanks everyone for the help.

Ordered my grille from Anderson Toyota in Lake Havasu, California.

I just called them and unfortunately, they look to be on backorder again. I think I will have to go the aftermarket route, but will always wonder if I got an inferior product because of it.

The 2nd gen TRD pro is no longer in production and Toyota needs to keep in stock certain amount of replacement parts. Most likely the factory has been retooled to manufacture 3rd gen parts and likely won't be making 2nd gen grilles anymore due to sales volume. That's probably why it is so hard to get a hold of them nowadays.

Picked up my grill this morning from getting it color matched and installed it later after work. So stoked on how good it came out. Thank you everyone who helped me.

I was able to get what seems like the last one in California. I suggest calling all the Toyota dealerships you can to see if they have a grill available in any color and just pay someone to color match it.

I was told by Toyota that if a dealership doesn’t have them you will not be able to get one for about a year or so.

I'm a bit late to the party but figured I'd give this thread a bump to let people know that they are still out there. After my local dealer said it would be 8-18 months to get one and ordering on online and then being told they didn't have one I was able to get one in magnetic grey here https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/accessories/toyota-sequoia-front_grille.html they did want a vin and mileage but that is easily enough to find in sale listings. Now I just need the weather to cooperate so I can paint it super white. 20240206_174653.jpg

I wonder why the price is $300+ when the other grills on the same site are $700+?

No idea, I was skeptical they could even get it but I called and they said it was available so I took a gamble and it paid off. And the shipping was actually reasonable, some places wanted $300 for shipping...
