Why don't my bumper panels line up?

Am I going crazy here or is there something not lined up here? I undid the bottom plastic push pin and 10mm bolt to help me get the bed step installed. I've tried so many different things it just seems like the black plastic is a tight fit to the silver bumper plastic. It's a tight fit on the other side but for whatever reason I can't get it as tight on this side. The plastic clips that hold it are all there and not damaged.

Does yours have a small gap too? It's almost as if the silver bumper plastic needs to come out a little bit. Tell me I'm crazy here and that's just how it is or was. LOL

Mine looks like that on both sides. There is a lot of flex in that area when I push on it with my fingers, so I imagine the size of the gap will change with temperature variations.

I have a gap there too.
Take a deep breath, it will be ok.

Thanks guys. I needed that. I wasn’t thinking it wasn’t fixable if it wasn’t supposed to be like that. Well you know what I mean. I should have looked at it before I popped the black plastic off.

I sometimes will take a picture with my cell. I learned that after doing mods on my 2017 Tundra. It bugs me too if it doesn’t look like it originally was.

I realize I’m being super picky too. Just spent a lot of money on this and it’s my first brand new vehicle I’ve purchased.
