I looked at the link. Said "not another greyish truck". Kept looking & the truck turned my 1st choice blue. I almost asked you to go look, then I saw that blank button on the left side of the dash. No side curtain airbags. pass. The pictures of the right side are terrible! Looks like the bed is a bad repaint on the right side, but I really cannot tell. it'll be a nice truck for somenone.

Here's a nice Alabama-only rust-free AC that's already had suspension done, nice tires, 170k miles, V8/4WD and very nicely optioned to boot. 2-owners. I'd be all over this if I needed a replacement. Yeah, it's at a premium, but if the timing belt has been done within the last 40k miles, price isn't outlandish considering the rubber, options, etc.

Dang. If that were a double cab I’d be very inclined to check it out.

It's a damn good price. That's ballpark what mine was listed for in 2019, only mine had 60k miles, a couple more options, and was bone-stock.

Ugly stepside 2WD with 37,000 miles on it for $17k. Doesn't even look optioned well, but maybe someone likes it, and is cool with the low-mileage problems the 1st gens can have.

instead of the key. You can off road & get pretty sideways. Too sideways & the truck thinks it's rolling & will blow the side curtains. The off button allows you to turn off the curtains to avoid that. It's my understanding the blank means the truck isn't optioned with side curtains, the off button means there are side curtains. Side curtains are an option I'll hold out for on a 20 year old truck because I'd rather spend less time healing than more time.

    RSCA button.

this thread suggests off camber won't do it.

This 1st Gen is located in Kendrick, ID. Finally stopped to take photos to pass along the info. Looks like it's been well taken care of but I know nothing of the vehicle's owner or maintenance history. Unlike a lot of Idaho rigs, the canopy is matching color which I would consider a bonus. It's been parked for sale for a couple weeks so I'm guessing a decent OBO price would get it done.

Did you happen to look underneath at all? Or do most trucks from that area have rust? I'm a sucker for that color best on the 1st gen IMHO. IF the interior is clean and no rust then thats a 6.0 away from my perfect truck[/QUOTE]

That's a nice one, and cool color. Isn't rust a concern in your area?

It was a quick stop to take a couple photos so I did not take a look underneath. I have not heard of frame rust issues with 1st Gens in my area - eastern Washington-North Idaho . My '05 DC has 303k miles and no rust issue.

I'm not aware of frame rust being a concern in my area. I have 303k miles on my '05 DC that I've driven in the area since new and do not have a rust issue. Also haven't heard any issues from friends who owned 1st gens or discussion with techs over the years.

I did run into an issue related to mag chloride road de-icer at about 200k miles when I decided to put Bilstein's on my '05. The de-icer essentially welds front end components together. So a simple shock upgrade turned into a spendy front end overhaul that cost about $2,500 pre-Covid prices. Had to have new control arms, ball joints, etc. So it's possible this 1st Gen could have a similar issue.

Looks like they got hammered with inquiries. The post got updated with the following:

"UPDATE: Folks. We have been overwhelmed with inquiries. To be fair, we will be in contact with those who responded first and those who have offered more than asking price. I feel like we should have had a raffle! Starting with those folks, we will send undercarriage pics to you, personally, rather than posting online. At this point, if you have not already contacted us, please DO NOT. I have over 40 contacts to sort through."

    Definitely a great deal!
