I went to San Francisco when I was 12. We were at a restaurant and I tried ordering Sweat Tea. The waitress kept asking me to repeat myself. Once she figured it out she laughed and said she thought I was calling her sweetie.

They did not have sweat tea. That's when I came to appreciate the South. We got sweet tea and diabeetus.

Popeyes is like that. It's "somebody gran-mamma-done-made-it level sweet". Syrup. Diabeetus, get Wilford Brimley on the line sweet. No thanks.

I do 1/4 - 1/3 cup turbinado sugar for a whole pitcher. 4 cups water with one family size bag in the nukebox for 6 minutes. Let stand for 6-10 minutes. Dump in pitcher with 1/3 cup turbinado sugar (gives it a little molasses touch, it's a family thing), stir to dissolve. Throw 7 cups cold water on top. A lot of the restaurants use 2x-3x as much, I don't need my tea that sweet.

So, funny story. @KNABORES might've called me out recently for being a Lipton guy. It's what my family has always drank my whole life. He told me to try Luzianne.

I'm not sure I'll ever switch back. It doesn't have that tannic bitter afterbite to it, smooth as can be. To the point you can mix it stronger and still enjoy it, which is something you can't do w/Lipton.

I'm always open to trying new stuff. A lot of times I'm disappointed. This is one time I was pleasantly surprised. I don't remember it being that good last time I tried it.

Around here rebar caps have the surveyors initials and license number on them, but in my experience there's no rhyme or reason to any of it. I sometimes run into a "pin cushioned" corner with 3-5 markers within a foot or two where several surveyors disagree and place their own monument. The colors don't mean anything, just that they had a yellow cap handy when they set the marker.

As many of you know I own a 2006 Honda Insight… which is a fantastic car. I absolutely love it, it gets me 50+ mpg and it’s engaging and fun to drive.

However, when I purchased it I was so excited to own Honda’s best design exercise that I didn’t really think about what it would be like for extended periods on the highway. It’s absolutely brutal.

I drive a 12 hour round trip to visit my girlfriend at her college every other weekend. I go to college in Milwaukee, she goes to college in Des Moines. The route between is as hilly and curvy as Wisco/Iowa gets, and trying to maintain 80mph is hell. I literally hold my foot to the floor for hours on end, and by the end my right leg is in agony. That poor little 67hp engine just isn't up to the task, plain and simple.

So… selling the little Insight and getting something like this might be in my future: Thoughts? My criteria for a replacement is: reliable, can maintain 80mph without issue, gets 25+ mpg highway, costs $6k or less, and is somewhat interesting/engaging to drive. I don’t want something boring, which is difficult considering my above criteria.

It's a twin because it's the same cab config and similar options.

Definitely thought about your plan / buy / steal cap / sell. But I found another potential cap. Should know if that goes anywhere by Friday. Dude doesn't want to split anything if he can sell it as a whole. He could make more money parting IMHO, but I gotta respect dude who owns it.

    Get a Honda CRX.

Meanwhile, is there no cruise control option for the Insight?

Doesn't the Matrix get p good gas mileage?

Could you get a CRX with cruise control? Would it really be comfortable for 6 hours, and would it actually be fine going up 6-9% grades that are a mile or two long?

I don't think you could get an Insight with CC. Nearly all of them are stick shift and traversing hills requires lots of downshifting. Maybe the CVT ones had it? Idk. I'm not buying a CVT.

The Matrix's are neat, especially the 2ZZ powered ones, but I'd have a hard time buying one knowing that I could get a Lexus SC400 for a similar price. The comfier, the better.
