You're 6'7" vote doesn't count when it comes to smaller vehicles. You're not the target audience. :p

Honestly, first impression of it was that it looks like an EV'ed Ridgeline.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I guess something changed on the MS.

I was able to add a new key fob.

    easy peasy.

Interwebs said I had to go to service center

I don't mean models, I mean actual volume of vehicles. If there are say 1 million of each model, what percentage of those 4 million vehicles have recalls vs the tens, possibly hundreds of millions of Toyotas? Or even Ford, GM, or Dodg...er... Fia... um Chysle... whatever the fuck the 3rd one is? I can't keep up with all this fluid naming crap these days.

The earlier 3s were full of fun recalls like failing UCAs that Sean mentioned earlier in the thread. As they iterated on production, the recalls got pretty minor. I don't know quantity wise but it's extremely minor stuff nowadays. Most recent for my 2019 3 was a recall on the rear camera wiring harness in the trunk to make it more robust when opening and closing the trunk.

Also when Tesla switched to using a heat pump (in 2021+ models) designed by the SpaceX material engineering folks, there were issues with those freezing closed in subzero weather. Since been corrected.

Good info, but I was just pointing out the biased slant of the twitter post comparing it to all other manufacturers total recall numbers rather than using proportional data. A million recalls out of 4 million vehicles would be way worse than a million recalls out of 500 million vehicles.

I've had to explain this to a friend before when I was using my CDL to earn a living. He was trying to get me to go to a place where I could clear about $10K more per year than I was with my current job. I had to run down how the hours they ran pay per load, it worked out to be about $6 less an hour to go "make more money" at the other place. He was still saying it was better because it was higher annual income, and he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that I was paid better where I was.

I also had a TSB for the charge port connectors or something. Tesla rangers came out to the house and did it.

I will say, how nice it is to have most recalls done via OTA. Super convenient

I don’t recall if this one is on this thread, but here’s a recent example. All corrected OTA.

We have this functioning on the MS without using MyQ.

I just synched it up with the remote.

and you are dead on...it took no time at all.

we do use MyQ on our phones for this garage unit (lake house), but I saw you had to pay for that feature to hook to Tesla...and well,....I'm too cheap.

am wondering - what will having the paid hook up do different?

When I added the autoremote on the last Tesla, I think it was around $350, and has to stay with the vehicle as it’s a part installed by Tesla.
MyQ is a whopping $45 year for the Tesla (you can choose whichever plan) and of course, can be removed should you sell / trade the vehicle.

    ok..so I hope I don't come across as condescending....but,

what does all that do that the standard garage door synch does not?

because, we have it set to open the garage as soon as she trips the geo zone thing.

does the MyQ add a feature?

or does the M3 not come with that garage door feature?

S comes with it? The 3 does not come with it. You can pay $350 + labor for it, or $45 a year for MyQ. I haven’t tested the geo part on it yet, as I don’t use the 2 car for the Tesla, but I’ll try it as soon as I get home
