Alright guys, I’m back to the mods……first one being, A German license plate. It was a chore to pass inspection, but I’m good for 2 years.
    IMG_0915.jpg
Next up: as much as I looked the Lonckey steering wheel cover, I felt as though this one looked much more modern.

Lastly, as soon as I figure out how to do a vid, I’ll show you my sequential turn signal mirror caps.

Glad to be back and able to give some attention to the Sequoia!

Where did you score the LED mirror caps. I’ve been looking everywhere since I saw your picture. Obviously looking in the wrong places.

Found them Here. When I ordered them about 6 months ago, they had no reviews and I took the chance. The fit is pretty good and the brightness is great. Hope this helps.

I’m about to order the SS3 pros for my tree. How’s the install? I couldn’t find any YouTube videos anywhere. Not sure if there are real instructions anywhere?

If you get the model made for our truck, the install is a breeze! They fit perfectly in the factory housing and have a direct connect wire harness. No real need for a video, tbh.

On my last Tundra, the install had to be done from the back (removing the liner). Is it the same for the Sequoia? Or can the entire install be done from the front?

On the Sequoia,it’s super easy, from the front. Pull the plastic shroud and remove 3 bolts (if memory serves me) and the fog light is out. Swap with the DD and replace.

On Tundra it is also very easy, don't even need to remove the wheel.

This video pretty much sums it up for you. Instead of a round fog light, you'd put the SS3 in its place.

Love that you kept your sequoia during South Korea and took it to Germany with you. We sold our Tundra when I went to S. Korea (Kunsan) just got back to the states and bought a 2017 Sequoia. Looking to do a lot of your mods to ours. Is an 18" wheel required on the sequoia? I ran 17" methods on my Tundra and am struggling to find info on what the smallest wheel we can fit on our sequoias is.

I have had good luck with Ali Express & most things are crazy cheap, downside is it takes up to a month to get things on the slow boat from China, I only get things I don't need in any kind of hurry.

I’m glad that I kept it throughout my travels as well, this truck has def served me well and it still looks modern enough on the road! For the wheels, I think I’ve seen 17s on some and my gut says it wouldn’t be a problem but I don’t have any first hand knowledge due to only having 20s and now 18s. Honestly, 18s are as small as I would ever go, given the size of this vehicle! Welcome back to the Toyota family and congratulations on your 2017! Keep us posted on your upgrades!

Likewise! It’s typically worth the wait, though.

Been awhile since she’s had a bath! I’m still amazed this is a 2008. It’s a behemoth on the road in Germany.

Didn't your cool wife spend like 4 hours hand stitching the lonckey and you change it out around the time her calluses healed?! What did you get? Link? The time to stitch is what makes me 'love' my stock wheel; however, I would love a more simple, non-slip on upgrade.

I just installed a Lonkey cover, painted my trim pieces and put a black overlay on the emblem. Having those trim pieces off and the airbag helped a lot and I didn’t have to tuck any leather in between anything. The slight wrinkles on the left went away after a few drives, massaging the leather:

Hey, hope you're glad you finally joined the Android world. FWIW I purchased this aftermarket cam for my 08. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QRYZ1Z7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details You might recall that I got the Dasaita a few years ago and the video res was pretty great during the day but pretty grainy at night. This cam is a direct replacement for the one you have and the pic was better. Not a ton, but better.

I realize that i haven’t checked in for awhile. Work and travelling Europe has kept me away from any mods. I’m still around, if anyone does have any questions or wants to drop a line to say hey.

Of note: The Joying HU, Passive keyless entry, SS3 fogs, Updated headlights, and other mods are still working as intended. I’m still very impressed with the Joying head unit and Passive keyless entry!

    Future mods:
Awaiting the release of Matt Gee’s tail lights
