Rear bumper covers arrived today. All taped as needed and look great.
Hopefully I’ll have time later this weekend to install and post up a photo or 2.

 

The official product description says that they wrap around just like OEM. So you shouldn't see any chrome.

They should start shipping out next week. They were being made today and yesterday

Would the gloss black match the gloss black fender flares? I have blueprint but considering making chrome mustache gloss black.

 

@EC1 Let me guess, these pieces are too close? Paint chipping from I’m guessing vibration while touching each other. They were fine after the initial install. They were a tight fit and I did tape before installing upper stache

 

Just looked. For sure yours does have a bit more of a gap. I know all trucks are not identical... it was tight getting the upper piece in there. Not too noticeable but annoying. I may hit it with the touch up paint I have.

 

So is that a fitment issue or installation error? I'll need to keep this in mind when my set comes in.

 

I am thinking a fitment issue in my case. I did the test fit and it was super tight too. I was making sure the chrome was completely covered which I was able to accomplish. If I would have tried sliding the upper piece up prior to sticking, the top by the hood wouldn't have been off. The pieces are pretty spot on but each truck is different.
I'll see what EC1 says/ thinks.

 

I trimmed mine...felt it was a tad too long and if I got the bend by the hood lined up, it would touch the bumper cap. So I trimmed the bottom of the mustache cover...mostly on the passenger side iirc

 

blue tape an even line on the mustache....exacto knife it off

 

I may make that attempt and then touch up the bottom pieces with my touch up paint to prevent further chipping. Thank you!

 

I can't remember what the fender flares look like. Can you post a photo?

We're slowly pulling these guys off the rack to have them taped up. I'll see if I can make your parts move a little faster.

 

Got the mustache color-matched a couple of weeks after doing the fog light bezel:

 

Installed, talk about anxiety! Used most of the blackout tape. Near impossible to get it perfect but it’s 98%. That upper part is tricky to get everything lined up perfectly.

Thanks. After I installed, the chrome Toyota emblem bothered me. So I popped it out and dipped it.

Would like to do this but I have zero skills, am ham handed as well as OCD about stuff like that. Meaning I know in advance my efforts would not be up to my standards.
But I really don't like all that chrome...

 

It’s pretty basic. Follow the video and took me about 30 minutes.

 

I've watched the video - I would make myself crazy trying to get it perfect and just don't have the skill (or patience) to get it done so I wouldn't cringe every time I look at it.

 

Doing this on my new truck was nerve wracking. It turned out great. It’ll never be 100% but pretty close.

 

mine cap is a tad misaligned with the hood but it was needed to cover the bright metal. I’m just never going to look at the hood line again haha
