I do enjoy the “why can’t my 1/2 ton truck do 1 ton things” crowd. Especially the bitchez that complain about capacity after buying the truck. As if the payload sticker reduced by 500lbs when they drove home from the dealership.

Serious question, do you guys actually use that? I never even look at that screen on mine.

Check the build link in my signature.
My “home” screen on the instrument cluster is the tank average MPG and DTE. Partly because I don’t need digital speedometer right next to the analog one and no other options for a “home” screen really matter to me now that I don’t have the digital compass (after replacing head unit).
But I don’t really use it for anything

Gotcha. My oldschool 2nd Gen I have to cycle through the info screens to get to it and just never choose to leave it on that screen.

I always have my dash set to my speed but the DTE still shows on there along with the odometer.

Head unit I keep set on the audio page.

Wife's Pilot has an option to show nothing there, which is nice. But with the way I have my seat and steering wheel set, I can't actually see the whole speedometer in my truck.

The Tundra (07-21) is an odd beast. HD C-channel frame (which is better for flexibility on HD trucks), a slightly heavier duty rear axle and slightly heavier duty brakes (than the typical 1/2 ton for most of that time frame).
I always considered it a 5/8 ton. Only the suspension is definitely half ton. Had they slightly beefed up the springs and shocks, they could've marketed it as a HD half ton. But, they "could've" done a lot of things. Like offer the 5.7 with 8 or 10 speed trans, offer a 6.6 gas, offer a diesel, offer more rear end gear options, offer lockers, etc.
I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have sold 2-3 times the amount of Tundras if they invested in more options.
Anyway, what's up with electric blue colored salamanders in frikkin Wisconsin??
That's like rainforest animal colors. Are they poisonous? Invasive? What possible reason could they have for being a crazy color like that?
Are they bluffing, to trick predators into thinking they're poisonous, because they're slow AF?

Can we at least call it an 11/16 ton; that way most of this generation's recent graduates will have no idea if it's less or more than a 1/2 ton...

I'm leaving work in about 15, then a 30 minute commute, then a 10 min welcome home routine with the dogs, then I have to change into my lounging attire.

I have another stupid tire question. If the owner's manual is to be believed, my wife's car has 9.6" (245 mm) wide tires on 8" (20x8) wide wheels. How is that supposed to work?

If you want to really eff with yourself and your OCD,......find a nice rural 2 lane that you can cruise @50 mph for a while at about 1200 rpm in 6th.
Then,.......reset you mpgs and then try to maintain it.

Rule of thumb is tread width should be right in and around 2" wider than wheel width.
So that's right in the ......wheel house.
Ha! See what I did there?
Anyway, too many people shoehorn way too wide tires on their wheels.
Shorter sidewall tires will usually (should) be a little closer to the wheel width.

Lol. I had to Google the last four digits…the first part is locked in my brain, keeping something much more useful from being retained.
