just a heads up, be careful posting oem info, toyota does troll the forums for bad actors that work for toyota dealers.

edit: i should re-word that. bad actors in toyota usa sense of putting restricted info in public forums. already has happened to one person on here recently.

 

Where did you get the tailgate handle? I think I want to change out my chrome one for an Ice Cap one to match my truck. It looks gody on the truck in Chrome.

 

Can you get the tailgate handle in Ice Cap?

The tailgate handle came from Sparks parts. It was cheap, but expect it to take 3-4 weeks to come in. Yep, black looks much better. Chrome looks right in some places, that wasn't one of them

Did you get yours from Hendrick too? Our dealer Randall was great. The rest of them can't seem to get anything right, communication is horrible between departments

I had a Truxedo Truxport on my Tacoma and wanted the LowPro. My father in law had the x15 pro and I loved the material over the lowpro/truxport.

Looks like the handles from Toyota are only black or chrome, and then have different numbers depending on cameras. Nice to see another Kansan here!

Anyone with a third gen especially hybrid notice a small clacking sound from the u link (not sure of terminology but what my Toyota tech called it). It’s the interface in the drive shaft doing to the rear. when jumping on back or going over larger bumps? They said it was normal. Had much worse clacking sounds from a possibly faulty pair of Dobinson coils that were fixed by going up to a heavier load rating. Just wanted to make sure this is normal.

 

Just put on the Chrome Stoppers color matched front facha, now waiting on Locker Down Safes to get me mine.

I've had Bak's Revolver X2, Retrax and have seen my buddy's Peragon....the X15 was my choice. Lifetime warranty, nice low profile and takes up almost no space when its rolled up. Just throw some "Camp Dry" (Kiwi) on it every few months. I contacted Truxedo and thats what they recommended.

 

Will water leak through the cover? Every few months seems excessive.

 

I havent had any fabric leaks...Truxedo didnt give an interval recommendation, just the product. I apply every 3-6 months.

The cover has some plastic membrane under the top layer of canvas. Mine never leaked through the cover, but they do get sopping wet.

 

I figured. My FIL has one on his Silverado and never mentioned any issues.

 

Does anyone have a volume knob they don't need? Mine broke.

Thank you. It’s a love or hate but orange has been a color that the garage has seen over time.
