I just had sensors put in my aftermarket rims. The mechanic cannot get the tpm light to go out. He says for some reason some Tundras just won’t Relearn with new sensors.

anyone have an idea of what to do?

    Where did you take it?

Did they clone your old sensors?

Have you tried following the steps in the owner manual to sync the sensors?

What sensors did they install? The 2020 and newer is very sensitive to what sensors are installed. Many of the aftermarket sensors will not work.

I took it to a local mechanic. They did not clone. The old ones are gone. They described a process that sounds like what I remember from the manual including driving it for 20 minutes.

I don’t know. Do you know what brands do work?

The OEM sensors is what I have. They were about $65 each.

Can you share where you got the OEM TPMS sensors for ~$65 per? I'm being quoted about $100 per from my local dealers. I'd prefer to stay OEM when I add one in my spare, but money matters a bit... With 141K miles and close to 6 years old, I wouldn't mind replacing the four originals when I add the 5th, which will really make a difference if I can save a couple hundred bucks.

OEM sensors are the same as Pacific Industrial, which are sometimes boxed as Denso. Identical sensors at a much lower cost.

Mine were from SparksParts. Dealers will charge full price for people that don't know how to get prices online. I always go t0 the parts dept with the price from Sparks and they match it.

One original TMP sensor failed. I took my 2015 Crewmax Tundra to Costco and had all four replaced with their "Universial" knockoff TPMs. The warning light went off, and I was happy because no one can beat Costco's prices. Wait, the next day the light lit again. Costco does not know the problem and gave me a full refund. Of course, Costco threw away my 3 good OEM TPMs. Does anyone here have any suggestions on how to relearn these knock off TPMs? I have no idea what brand they are.

Go to one of your local tire shops. They can scan them and program them for you as long as they are compatible sensors.

Techstream works if you have the code off each sensor.

I have programmed many sensors with this which reads the sensor through the tire and programs to the car. Works great:

I highly recommend OEM sensors. (Pacific Industries makes them, repackages as Denso or OEM). Buy from an authorized dealer for warranty (not Rock Auto).

    Good luck.
