I’ve had electric coil, electric flat top, and gas range. Coil sucks. Flat top is a close second sucks. Gas is pretty great. That instant on and off. The powuh!! Cleanup kinda sucks compared to the flat top though. And the gas stinks. Doesn’t bother me much but it bothers some. But our current electric range has been my favorite of all. Induction flattop. The power of gas without the tough cleanup and smell. Water boils in 90 seconds. When you change the stove setting, it takes effect immediately. Water about to boil over? Turn it down 2 notches and it instantly changes from wild boil to consistent moderate rolling boil. If we could get gas, I wouldn’t switch.

Induction and cast iron aren’t compatible options, correct?

Lodge seems to say it’s a workable combo. But I don’t think it’d be fun or pretty.

Cast iron works great. Stainless works great. Any ferrous metal. Cheap aluminum pans do not. Some aluminum pans that have a ferrous disk added to it still work.

I think the issue with cast iron is the weight. Don't want to scratch or break the glass. But if you always remember to be careful and gentle, no problem.

Nukebox is going to the can or going on Meta. Either or.

Found this one piece on lowes. Looks guud. I'd have to pull the hood back out, but that'd be easy to do. Cheap too!

Found this peel-n-stick sheet also. I've never done a peel-n-stick before. Thoughts? Seen some reviews pictures. Can see the seams between the "sheets" but that may have been installation errors.

Found this "hex" sheet. Seems like it'd be easier to hide seams with this.

Note: Planning on running the same back splashy all the way to at lest the sink. Maybe all the way to coffee bar. I'd like it all to match.

Me being me, I like having a mechanical (screws) way to hold sheets rather than relying solely on adhesive.

The hex sheet looks cool but too many nooks and crannies for grease to settle in. Probably bee a bitch to keep clean.

I'm leaning towards the single sheet, but I don't know how I'd do the rest of way to the sink unless I bought another sheet, and cut to fit.

Check the address and be sure it’s not phishing. And go to Amazon site to see if you have messages there. I use Amazon a lot, and return a lot, never saw that. I probably return 20 items a year. Sometimes I order more than one of the similar just to see what I will keep vs send back. Maybe it’s a ratio thing, I dunno. But if anyone is a return guy I am.

Depending on how much you have to do tile backsplashes are pretty easy. Throw some primer on the wall, get a bucket of tile adhesive, some spacers, slap the tile up, and use some premixed grout.

We have these high temp silicone mats for induction tops. Keeps the pans from touching the glass. Since the top doesn't heat up, the mats are fine. Induction beams the heat straight to the pan. Highly efficient with very little waste heat, unlike gas.

I was highly disappointed when we bought this house that it did not have gas service to it. All electric. So we did some research on electric stoves and discovered the induction ones. Sounded good (maybe too good to be true). Figured we would go for it. The ones we liked had induction tops, air fry / convection ovens. This one was only $1k. Cheap by new stove standards. Absolutely love it. And without gas service to pay for, electric bill only is cheaper than our last house of similar size so our utilities overall are 20% cheaper. Crazy.
