22 Platinum, no major problems but every single one of the minor ones I had.

16k on the truck, the molding on the side had to be removed because of the bad fit, the wind noise, throttle delay (fixed w/TSB), rattling from back window, dimples in the fender, vents wouldn't blow properly, AC wouldn't get cold (Yes I have carista and adjusted it down), broken radio knob, then the seat trim cracked on me a couple weeks ago.

I wanted to love it and bought it for Toyotas reputation but after all the minor things I was convinced it was a matter of time before I had a major issue.

Got a new 23 raptor, dealer gave me 54 on trade and 1k off MSRP. Happy with the deal. Time will tell but the fit/finish seems superior so far.

I've got the wheels and tires from the Tundra in the sale section if anyone is interested. Massive ride and appearance improvement over stock, no rubbing no mpg loss.

Hope your ford treats you well. I’m afraid all new vehicles have their minor issues. I have a 22 f150 for work and it’s had a laundry list of electrical issues in year 1.

What did you pay for your Tundra and for the Raptor?

    That's a nice Raptor .
I also buy Toyota because of the perceived reliability. At this point I will continue to do so, but I acknowledge that there are a few issues with the new ones.
I have friends and coworkers with Fords and some are very happy and some are in the shop more than on the road. I am wishing you the best with the Raptor.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
No shame in it, I’d get tilted about it too after spending that much. The red looks great on the tundra and as does the cherry on the ford.

Raptors/raptor r’s are the only fords I like look wise. Nice looking rig. I think they made it look less refined on the 24 model though.

Does the Raptor have the heated steering wheel, or was it deleted due to the chip shortage?

I'm in the market to replace my 2020 Raptor. Mine has 45K trouble free miles. As long as Ford continues to make the Raptor, I will own one.

I wish you the best with your new Raptor. I just went the opposite direction, trading a 2022 F150 for a 2024 Tundra. My Ford was a thorn in my side for 14 months with a drivetrain shudder as well as other assorted issues. The dealer replaced the torque converter and finally determined that the transmission had a problem and should be replaced. Ford disagreed, so now I drive a Tundra.

14% depreciation on the Tundra in one year. That's not too bad. It will be interesting to see what the Ford is worth in a year.

The small, nagging problems become too much to take don't they. Besides, who doesn't love the Raptor? The Raptor definitely would have been my first choice but I couldn't afford it at the time that I was looking to buy. I've had two newer Fords for work trucks and they never let me down, or even ended up in the shop for any reason. I am pretty impressed with Ford's quality, at least from personal experience.

You bought a really nice truck.

why would you replace a trouble free vehicle? With the same vehicle? Yours at 45k is still practically new. And you know what you got.

I never keep vehicles this long, the only reason it hasn't already been upgraded is the heated steering wheel issue. I'm definitely not going to spend that much money and have missing features.

Also mine is a 2nd gen, the 3rd gen's have a lot of nice features.

Just really seems like Russian roulette with these new trucks. When you get a good one, hard to let it go!

Maybe. But there’s quite a few unhappy folks here, and with Ford, and Chevy and Ram. And the stakes are higher than ever with most new trucks selling over $60k.

Also a lot of unhappy people with 3rd gen Tundra's.

No such thing as 100% reliability.

It is missing the heated steering wheel, no subscription charge for the remote start though.

That's a major bummer about the wheel, now that I'm used to it I'll never go without it again. I was hoping that we would start seeing the return of that feature by now.

As far as I know, Ford doesn't charge for remote start (I've never paid for it on my 2020).

    Jeep, on the other hand.......

Once you get used to the Raptor suspension, you'll be hooked for life.

It can be done from the fob or the app, neither of which is fee based.
