How do I find what rim size I need?

I have a 2000 Tundra that has been lifted and given bigger rims (previous owner). I want to get an extra wheel as a spare tire because I will be off-roading and need a backup in case something happens. But I can’t figure out what rim size matches the wheels that are currently on the truck.

The wheels I have are 295/75R16. What rim should I get to fit this size tire to my truck?

So you have a 16 inch rim. Are you looking at getting a tire that is the same size? If so, I would look on the back of one of your wheels to see what the offset is. It will say something like ET 18, ET 25, etc.

Is your current spare the OEM wheel? If so, what does the diameter measure? (Mine is 17, IIRC) If you don't want to pull out a tape measure, just look at the last two digits of the tire size (i.e. 295/75r16 is a 16" wheel).

Really, you could use just about any rim, as long as your final tire diameter is in the ballpark of the same diameter of your current tire. 295/75r16 is a whopping 33.4" tire. If you had an OEM 17" spare steel wheel you could go with 295/70r17 and hit 33.3" and that'll do just fine as a spare.

Just know the OEM spare on these trucks typically had a TPMS sensor in them, so if you replace the OEM spare, your tire pressure light may start flashing when the sensor isn't there anymore.
