Fuse box under driver dash for VLEDs install

I'm looking to install the front footwell LED kit from VLEDs in my 18 Tundra 1794. First step is to remove the cover for the fuse box under the driver's side dash.

Is this the correct thing to remove, presumably by that little tiny nut at the bottom

 

Yes that's the right fuse cover, no need to remove any nuts, the cover just pops off.

 

Why does it want you to remove the cover? To remove the fuse while you're connecting the kit?

 

I have the older kit, but it seems like the newer ones with the dimmer option makes you tap into the tail light fuse.

That makes sense. I forgot about the dimmer. I have the older kit as well.

 

Really? The black part is the cover? I have it a good tug and it didn’t come off. Am I doing something wrong?

 

Try pulling it from the top, it has a little latch on it.
