Not sure what skills you have with leather, but wrapping it in leather could sew up the look (HA! I kill me), and keep the hot/cold qualities you're wanting.

Nice work. I have never noticed any particular hot or cold extreme with the oem knob but stained leather is probably the quickest way to achieve a look that fits in.

Of course, you could always just leave it and it will evolve its own patina over the years, just like my fly rod grips. But that means you'll have to get it wet and cover it in fish slime regularly.

It was an oddly placed fly rod handle that started me down this rabbit hole.

I cleaned up the headlights with Cerakote Headlight Restoration Kit. I'm very impressed with the results. The headlights look new again.

Highly recommended and super easy to do. I watched the instructional video, taped off the body surrounding the headlights, and followed the instructions to the letter. I took my time to get it right the first time.

Thank you. I think it looks great as well. Total time spent was 2.5 hours. That includes setting up the Easy-Up and getting everything ready. I sped up the drying process between steps 2 and 3 by using compressed air to blow all the water out of the nooks and crannies. I took my time to make sure I did the job right.

I don't have any indicators yet regarding how long it will last so I cannot speak on that. I do live in the Phoenix area where the sun is brutal on everything. I would be willing to do this again in a few years if needed because it was that easy to do.

THIS. All of my small engines get non ethanol fuel. My truck gets it when I fill up cans. I wish more places offered non ethanol fuel (real gas).

Now to decide to either wire to the backup lights or separate switch inside the truck.

There is someone on here that makes adapter harnesses to get extra wire out from taillights. I got one to connect my S2s to the reverse lights. Made it easy.

This is the best option overall, and I just got some ABC switches in to help. I’d like to build out a modular option for on/off/auto to a relay off some headlight trigger. It’ll be a while though.
