Grab Handles too small

    Hey Tundra owners.

I've owned my new '23 Tundra for a few months now and can't help but be frustrated with the tiny grab handles it came with.

Now I'm not sure if the grab handle designer is an avid rock climber, or just a small-handed-man... but I literally cannot fit my hand through the grab handle gap. I can get up to my first knuckle, and that's it. My palm is denied entry. Alas, I can only hoist myself up with an altogether under-powered finger-hold (no rock climbing here).

Now granted, I'm a bigger guy (6'4, 260lbs)... but I know my hands are not the biggest in America (I've shaken plenty of bigger, thicker, stronger ones ;) I tend to carry my weight more on the belly :)

I'd also like to point out that these handles are essentially trianglular - and are very uncomfortable (at least with my limited & awful 4-fingered grip).

    AM I ALONE IN THIS?

I'm looking into getting some new, larger, and more comfortable handles custom CNC'd at a buddies shop. Would anyone else be interested in purchasing something like this? We're trying to decide whether making a batch would be worthwhile.

While I don't own a 3rd gen, I'm glad your thought process is to make some billet replacements which would be absolutely sweet regardless if anyone uses the grab handle or not. I support your endeavor sir.

:monocle: This is a VERY, very good point.

I'd hate to slam my face into the current, hardened plastic handle and it's internal bolts, but it would probably be softer than billet aluminum!

    Thanks for the angle!

Also - I'm genuinely a little shocked that everyone elses hands fit just fine. Here's my [apparently enormous] mitts unable to get through:

What's funny to me, is that they made the rear passenger grab handles just perfect - nice and spacious. It's almost as though they anticipated large people being in their largest truck!? Just not in the front

    The offending tri-angle:

    IMG-7524-2_2b49d8cf29cdcb25822f0caea8321cf1059d0eef.jpg

OMG - I've just had a thought - could these be installed backwards!? As in.... the left is on the right, and the right is on the left so the little triangle should actually be towards my palm - allowing more space for entry!?

I never put my entire hand in, just grip around the first joint on my fingers. You can also grab with your palm facing outward for a better fit.

    Haha, amazing comments.

Ok - so the verdict is that I do have enormous hands, and will need to proceed with the customized face-smashing aluminum replacements.

Stand-by for updates! My buddy is a whizz, so they're gonna be cool!
