I'm picking up my new TRD Pro next week, so I started cleaning out my truck to drive up for the trade and it got me thinking...
Where am I going to store all this?
I don't have tons of stuff, but I do have the usual - tie straps, tools, emergency bag, etc. - and I've been storing it under the seat. Which I won't have in the Tundra.

    Thanks in advance for tips/suggestions.
    Cheers,

If non hybrid, under the rear seats and a little more storage behind the rear passenger seats.

Hybrid (TRD Pro) so I'm losing all under back seat storage. The fold out boxes linked above look promising.

I just cleaned it all out more less.
    - Do I really need tools? Its brand new
    - Do I really need straps 24/7 on board? I put mine in a small plastic tool box and just huck them in the box as needed
    - I tossed the emergency bag out for good, with phones now a days do you really need it?
    - Jumper Cables I left in there, not sure why as in 10 years they have yet to be used LOL

I think there is still storage behind the passenger rear seat.
The storage under the rear seats is used by the battery.

You make some fair points, but... ever been caught on an Interstate in the South for multiple hours? I have. Couple times. And having that extra water/food/raincoat/etc. sure made it easier. Could I have survived? Of course, most everyone does. But I'd rather have it and not be so thirsty/hungry/cold in an emergency. So that one has to stay.
Tools and straps are always in my truck because that's what I do with it. IOW, they're not for my new truck, they're for the work I do with my new truck. Yeah, I suppose I could put it in a toolbox in the bed, and that's probably what I'll hafta do.
    Cheers,

Dont forget those bungee cords. Need to connect that crate to a hook otherwise it turns into a projectile when starting or stopping hard.

You can also consider a cargo net. That'll hold a fair amounts of stuff too.

Know how I know you don't live or travel in Northern Canada? :D

That said, my tool bag is drastically slimmed down and more for fixing other stuff than my truck. I'm not going to be fixing much myself on a brand new vehicle.

I have used a combination of a Plano similar to the one linked above as well as one of these: https://www.northerntool.com/produc...WVGU3Ikrdk0BVAIZTXkaAs5tEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I like having the movable storage solutions, that way if I need the bed for large items, I can move my toolboxes in the cab.

Bass pro carries 3 different sizes of those Plano boxes, if you have one local you can see what size works best for your stuff. The smaller sizes are usually under $20.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
Get a locking metal tonneau (whether retractable or foldable or hard shell lift) and then go into the trucks manual for the dimensions and cuts - get a 2x6 or 2x8 board from hardware store to separate sections off in the bed. I have 2 totes in the bed, 1 for automotive (jumper, recovery straps, emergency stuff) and another for personal items. The 2x6 I installed keeps the totes from sliding all over the place. The factory add-on bed spray is pretty good.

I put 2 of these in. Really good IMO. I do carry tools but mostly just because I like to have tools. Jumper cables, tire patch, straps, bungees, blankets, hitch stuff.

Bottom of the mount butts up on the ridges of the truck bed. I suppose if you have the time you could wedge it out but you would struggle with that attached to a fully loaded case.

I should mention I have a locked cover too for good measure.

44 years of pounding up and down Canadian highways tells me I am prepared as I need to be. Never been an issue and never will be. I have all I need.
