I have a 06 tundra 2wd it’s an xsp truck. It’s m trying to replace the hubs and bearings up front and after pressing the new aftermarket hubs in I don’t have enough room to tighten up the spindle nuts they only go on maybe 1 or 2 threads. The factory hub is so expensive. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have a link or part number to a hub they have used and not had trouble with?

No part info for you here... but I'm curious as to why you're not using the original OEM hubs you would have pressed out with the old bearings? did they get messed up?

If you don’t have enough threads showing, then the only logical thing that it could be was that your wheel bearing wasn’t fully seated when it was pressed on.

Picture of the problem would help. Guess I’m confused as to what you are calling the spindle nut on your 2wd.

He may be talking about the bearing lock nut. There is a special tool for it.

Yeah, and it’s called a welder. At least that’s what i used on my 2wd donor truck.

I read a bunch of reviews on the OTC 4 pin tool, and the reviews were not good. Many, many, many reports of the pins on the tool sheering off. I wasn’t planning on reusing my 2wd spanner nuts, so it didn’t make sense to spend close to $100 on a socket (that would break anyhow). My advice to the OP is to spend the extra $$$ on a high quality socket!

Just to give everyone an idea of what it looks like, here’s a pic of the 2wd hub nut when it is torqued down properly.

Yep. Can confirm. Spent $20 for it on scAmazon. Sheared right off. Lololol. Ended up having a local shop remove and install the bearings into my knuckles for me instead.
