Hello all. I'm currently in a 2015 Tacoma O/R that has served me well, but I'd like a full-size. I decided on a Tundra TRD Pro, but the dealers in N.W. Florida are having trouble getting one (or aren't sufficiently motivated, one of the two).

GM has some great incentives on Sierras (~10k off) and Silverados (0% for 72 with a few thousand off). I think the Sierra blows the Tundra out of the water on looks, the interior is far more refined, and the bells and whistles make the Tundra appear to be stuck in the early 2000s. With all that said, my wife and I have owned a 2007 Tundra, a 2013 Tacoma (pre-runner), 2015 Highlander and a 2015 Tacoma without a single serious mechanical issue. Moreover, each was traded in for nearly what we paid new. Hard to argue with consistent results and I hear too many horror stories of being stuck in GM service center purgatory.

I wouldn't do much serious off-roading (in Florida that just means mud and water which I won't do in a new truck) beyond trips to the forest (muddy trails at most) and hunt camp. I will occasionally pull an aluminum trailer with one or two cows for my kids.

Of all the models, the Pro is what I really want. I understand I could get many of the features on the aftermarket, but what I like is the seats (just love the look), factory leveling, far more attractive wheels, and a distinct lack of chrome.

Since it appears I can't get the Pro, my second choice is the crewmax limited with O/R and towing package (standard?). I want the O/R to get the wheels and TBH $100 is cheap to get the upgrades.

there doesn't seem to be much in the way of incentives for 17s and the 18s are starting to roll in. I'm not in a hurry and can wait till the end of November (black Friday?), but I can't seem to find what kind of end-of-year sales Toyota typically does on Tundras. Any wisdom to share?

When the new models start rolling in they typically start some decent sales, just gotta look around. I'm in Panama City and had to go up to Alabama to find the deal I was looking for.

Use autotrader etc. to shop around with.

    And go Noles!!!

Well since the Tundra Pro is out in 18', have to find one in the current year. Not impossible, just have to find the motivated dealer that deserves your business. Don't be afraid to jump on a plane or ship. I have done it twice without regrets.

I do believe all 5.7L Tundra trucks come with the tow package now. Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable members can confirm that.

I would steer you towards the GM if you were looking in 3/4 ton or larger trucks (only because Toyota does not offer a bigger capacity truck...yet), however in the 1/2 ton market...you're looking in the right place. I have been in a Platinum and limited Tundra, and own a SLT GMC truck (interior package below the Denali), and would say they are pretty close in comfort, bells and whistles. I have only seen pictures of the 1794 interiors, and they look amazing. Really, the only thing my GMC has interior wise I can't get on Toyota is: Auto up windows, inverter (have two alternators), sound system is better...can't think of much else.

The Pro has a pretty nice suspension system for factory. I would even put the quality above the Raptor (the SVT Fox shocks are shit).

In my opinion, you only have a couple choices in the 1/2 ton market. I know that sounds really cocky, but when you sit on some of these other forums and do some research.

If you want a PRO, go hunt one down now. Won't be available next year. Otherwise wait for 18's. You'll get LED headlights and collision avoidance thingy and possibly that new grille. I couldn't wait 2 weeks for a '16 and missed out on the 38 gallon gas tank. Big mistake.

My cousin sent me the link to two Pros at a dealer in NJ. As of last night they were there apparently.

Waiting on a 2018, 1794 in white. In my area on NC, it appears they get mostly FFV, which I'm not interested in, so I'll likely go out of state. I'm looking daily for them to start showing up.

If anyone has search suggestions outside of Toyota, auto trader, truecar, etc. for 18's, I'd be interested.

If you want a pro then you should try and find one. Now may be your last chance for a who knows how long. The key is contacting as many dealerships as you can until you find one that is willing to work for you and willing to give you a deal.

Thanks for the help. Used Auto trader to find one of the last two in the southeast.
