VVT I engine which means variable valve timing with intelligence. This allows the valves to open and close (or breathe) to increase fuel economy and offer better performance. The "I" is for intelligence- or brains of the engine remembering your pattern of driving

Ok, thank you.. So is this better than the FFV? Also, with a new Tundra can you have the dealership throw in lifetime oil change before you buy the truck.

FFV is a flex fuel vehicle, the members do not like them, I have no experience with.

The guys should be able to answer about the oil changes, I prefer to do my own oil changes.

Oil changes for life will be on your part when you negotiate the deal.

"i-FORCE is the name given to the Toyota Tundra's powerful V8 engine. This engine uses VVT-i, which stands for “Variable Valve Timing with intelligence” for improved fuel economy. What makes this engine different from traditional engines is that Toyota developed a way to overlap the time between when the exhaust valve closes and when the intake valve opens. This results in drastically improved fuel economy for these larger vehicles that require an 8-cylinder engine. This type of engine is standard on the Tundra, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner."

Can you imagine what our fuel economy would be without VVTi? :cookiemonster:

It's this mythical thing called Miles per gallon. All the prius guys keep talking about it, I think they got it messed up cuz I just see gallons per mile  :p

A bit off topic, but back in the day I had a Celica GT-S with VVTL-I (variable valve time and lift intelligent), really fun to drive. Similar to Honda's V-TEC, once the tach hit a certain RPM (I think 6200), it took off. In first gear it would break the tires loose when it kicked in.
