Looks like you just need to unscrew that piece and put the new one on. That plastic part tends to dry rot so unless it’s still good you may as well swap that too.

Put some Tyger blade running boards on. The old ones were trashed.

    IMG_6998.jpg

Also put some cheap Amazon door handle overlays on to get a gloss black look. We’ll see how they hold up.

Nice. I’ve had those running boards for over a year now, no complaints or signs of rust.

I had them on a previous truck. No issues at all.

I kick myself everytime I see these wheels on a second gen. I could have had a set for $500 with ok tires. Deal of deals to miss out on.

Updated the interior lighting with VLEDS lighting. I don't know how I've gone so long without decent cab and footwell lighting! Just waiting for the puddle lights to arrive.

Finally got my climate control servo replaced. What a freaking nightmare of a job. You pretty much need to be a contortionist with 3 hands in order to do this job.

This is what it looks like with the antenna removed. You should be able to unscrew the rest of the antenna and install a new one. A little penetrating oil and some time might help.

I replaced all four belt moldings around the windows. Took less than 15 minutes. No more flapping in the breeze from the old, ripped up ones.

I did NOT install steering wheel controls.

    IMG_0060.jpg

I got them wired up and discovered that the extra temperature control buttons on the right panel don't pass signals through to the stereo. I think they communicate directly with the automatic climate control system, which my SR5 doesn't have.

So I'm returning these controls and ordered the standard kind with fewer buttons, along with the narrower airbag I need to fit them onto my wheel.

I'll make a DIY when I'm done because the existing DIYs on the topic are scattered and confusing.

I did the Auto Climate Control upgrade on my SR5. The dash parts and specific Climate Control ECU were from a Tundra, but my steering wheel was from a Sequoia, and it had the Temp controls (I've never noticed if the Tundras have them). FWIW, with the headlight on, the temp buttons won't illuminate like the radio controls do. I suspect that for the Temp controls to work with the ACC system, a Sequoia climate ECU may be needed.

Post up more info on how this is accomplished, parts and a price?

I’ve read threads on steering wheel controls and it seems like a pain in the ass. Also my SR5 is not presided for a light sensor on the dash so I’m guessing it’s a lower level sr5?

I purchased the parts second-hand. I don't recall price exactly as it was quite a while ago. I don't see what year your truck is, but I don't know that anyone has done the conversion on a 2.5 Gen, this only applies to the 2nd Gen. Here's the thread that I followed:

The threads do make it seem like a PITA but this is one of the easier mods I've done. Tap 3 wires in the steering column with vampire taps. One goes to ground and the other two poke info the back of a harness behind the head unit. Then swap your airbag and plug-in the buttons.

    it’s actually really simple.

I bought the controls and airbag with cutout for them and plugged them up and mounted everything back together

then just followed this. Ran wire from steering wheel connector straight to my pac like in the directions and everything worked fine

    IMG_2222.png

Adding the auto headlights was easy enough as well, but just make sure to use the correct gauge wire mentioned in the how to floating around!

2008 SR5, I’m not prewired with the solar sensor for auto headlights. Reading up on this if you don’t have that wiring it’s more involved to add auto climate controls. Something to do with the solar sensor and retaining temp when the truck restarts. Wish it was that simple ?

20231007_121440.jpg Me and mobile device are not doing well. This picture landed on top somehow. Anywho, I let it drain till it barely dripped. Dropped the pan and a quart of fluid remains in the pan.

2010 4.6 likely had its first dump and fill of ATF at 111,000 miles. Its towed throughout its life, shifts well and no issues. Took about 3 hours. Greased the 5 u-joints, cleaned things up along the way.

Shifts solid and swift. Fluid was Amsoil. 6 quarts out, 6.5 in to overflow.

Mine wasn't wired for the solar sensor either. I had to add that for the addition of the auto headlights, the climate control and the extra wiring harness for temperature retention.

thanks for that pic. I hit it with some kroil and it started breaking apart some plastic. I’m sure it will be stuck forever and I’ll have to buy a new mast.

Yesterday I attempted to refinish my headlights with the 3M kit. It worked okay. Also replaced my turn signal bulbs.

NW truck, no salt, no crazy underneath. Having removed 10,000+++ pan bolts working at AAMCO for ten years, transmission pans inherently seep through the gasket. It's rare but not impossible for pan bolt to corrode in place.

Use a 1/4" speed handle to break them free. The speed handle has feel. Trust it. Just like tightening a bolt and SEEING when it quits turning, common sense (for some) says quit turning when it stops cold.

It was eventless. Well until 24hrs later I see new crush washer leaking... - sigh - At least it's the overflow plug 100 miles later. Still a good amount of seepage.

After 100 miles both ways on ATF fluid swap I'm happy to see the 4.6 2010 with 110k miles does this with STFT / LTFT at 77 mph on the interstate. Never mind that other jazz.

Zero / Zero across the board.

What's the relationship between transmission performance and fuel trim? Why is 0% a good thing?
