    Hey folks.
I’m putting in my new Rago dash mount pretty soon. I’m really undecided on what phone mount I want to use with it, however.

I’m thinking of finding some way to attach a Peak Design charge mount to it. I’m worried the neck won’t be long enough for convenient reach though.

anyone doing this or have any suggestions one way or another?

TundraDashPlatePhotos_Landscape_1.jpg I've installed the mounts on the last two Tundra's. Not a project for the faint of heart. DO WATCH THE INSTALL VIDEO! & allow about twice as much time as you think it should take. In the end it's worth it and it is extremely well built.

I assume you're talking about the Ragos?

I can't stand screen vibration so mounting a phone on the Rago is a no-go for me.

Yes the Rago dash mount. That's their propaganda pic but I do use it with all the Mob Armor goodies along with Go Pro etc. They are quite adaptive and easy to customize while keeping the dash as clean and unobscured as possible and free from distraction. Just take a deep breath and go for it.

I was under the impression there is no vibration with the Ragos, especially if you use a plate underneath to further stabilize it. That's the whole reason I bought it -- I'll be pretty damn annoyed if I have to put up with vibration. I wouldn't have gone with a rago otherwise.

How much vibration am I looking at? Where do you do phone mounts instead?

I have the ICS support plate with mine but it will still have some vibration as the whole dash flexes. It's not bad. When the screen is off, you see the vibration more because of the reflection. I currently have the Tackform vent mount but it vibrates too. The Rago does wonders for my radar detector though.

There is nothing you are going to mount in your truck that will be on an arm that will have zero vibration. If you drive on streets alone you will still have some vibration, minimal but it will vibrate.

If you are going to mount a Rago then I would double check all of the nutserts they installed and make sure they are tight. I have had to remove my mount twice now to tighten one up then the second time I tightened them all up so I did not have to go in there again. Their bracket is a good one but what I have seen is if you mount something closer to any of the edges the vibration will be worse. This bracket mounts in the very center with 2 bolts and the edges hang from there.

A lot of vibration drives me crazy but this setup is tolerable in my opinion. The best I have done so far. I am also not a fan of the RAM mounts and arms because of the rubber, they vibrate more than the smaller metal balls and Carbon Fiber arms (forget the names, 2 different manufacturers) do and I am fed up with them

This is helpful, thanks. I don't expect zero vibration, but I inferred there might be a lot of it, which would certainly bug me. It's a balancing act, too -- I don't care if it's close to the edge as long as the neck is long enough to position the phone so I can grab at it without having to stretch-reach from my seat. But a longer neck also increases potential vibration... Hmmmmmm.

What phone mount did you go with for your rago?

To each his own. I need the mounts for devices I use on the road. It's that simple.

I bought the RAM X mounts for the phones, I have one on each side for the wife when she rides along. I do not need my phone much at all anymore since I upgraded my HU, it does the CarPlay to the screen.
