Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

Picked up one of each, 51 and 59 bucks. The early bottles of SBBP had a real banana flavor to them the last few not at all, hope this one does.

 

I haven't had Jack in while... I'll have to look for one of the SBBPs

 

Those SBBS are some of my personal favorites. I always swore off Jack because of the old #7 but these are outstanding juice.

 

I think a lot of us did the same. My goal is to find the Coy Hill and the 12 year without giving up my first born.

 

I'm in the same boat as you, but have been seeing/hearing that the single barrel offerings are good. Fortunately both are readily available here.

I'm in Europe next month - I love going to Europe because the craze around bourbon isn't so strong and you can often find "rarities" there for standard prices. I'm leaving some suitcase space to smuggle a few bottles back.

 

I’ve been looking for a CH also, they’re only getting more expensive but probably a top 5 bottle. I’ve had a 12 year, great as well. Similar to the SBBS but more approachable.

 

Nice! Yeah, You should be able to find Blanton's Gold for sure and probably a few others. The gold is probably my favorite of the Blanton's lineup.

 

Last time I was in Sweden both the standard and gold Blanton's was available almost everywhere. In Paris there is a pretty famous whiskey distributer, La Maison du Whisky - I'm hoping to pick up some Weller rarities there.

 

Anthenaeum bourbon was on sale so gave it a try. It's not too bad, I could taste a hint of cab in there.

I always enjoy doing the blind taste test. Where you have no idea what’s in each glass. It’s interesting to see what people pick when they don’t see a brand name or bottle.

 

Henny white a lot better than the normal dark henny.

 

Has anyone tried this single barrels ? I like regular AE but wasn't sure if it is worth the extra 60 bucks or so.

 

I picked up a store pick single barrel last year. I wasn’t a fan of it at all. Barrel picks are hit and miss though. One can be outstanding and another one can be not so great.

 

Do you like regular AE, was it at all similar to it? I know, the single barrel effect is the most dastardly deed of all time.
