Of my fellow grit lovers, do y'all only do hominy grits or have you had corn grits? My family only does hominy. But I love corn grits too. They won't buy em.
The local farm, Froberg's, makes some amazing corn grits.

That's a cheap shot, I live on an acre in a rural suburb haha. I have a dozen chickens!

 

Grits are terrible. Look at how much crap you have to add to make them taste good. It's basically the equivalent of food welfare. It can't stand on its own and taste good. It needs help.

Keep the grits. I'll opt for biscuits and gravy.

First off, both are awesome. Second off, how many ingredients went into biscuits? How about gravy? Flour by itself taste like shit too.

 

I may have misinterpreted the commercial as a child ...

 

I have no rebuttal to that but I maintain my stance that grits are flavorless and terrible.


I also wouldn't trust anyone West of Arkansas to make me grits.

 

BTW you wanna make real chili con queso?

Slow cook in a crockpot or saucepan:

Cubed Velveeta or other processed American cheese
Monterey jack (can be substituted with any number of Mexican cheeses like quesadilla or oaxaca)
Milk
Can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilies
Can of Hatch green chilies
Can of cream of celerey
Freshly sauteed onion and bell pepper
A little TX-TX Salsa and stir

*Optional ingredients:
A pound of either sausage, hamburger with taco seasoning, or chorizo
Freshly sauteed celerey
Fresh cilantro

So don't people around here, in fact two acres.

 

Just make sure you use a little less than half the amount of Oaxaca as you do processed cheese. You don't want the ratio to be thrown off.

Cilantro is also an optional ingredient

Quaker doesn't make instant, I don't think. 5-minute is as close as they get. I pasted the 'old fashioned' label.

I like cornbread and fried okra. I only eat fish i catch, and i might go fishing once a year.

and usually those are sun baked with lime.

 

Fried fish is the best fish. I don't like corn bread. Fried okra is ok. Dried okra is better.
